Help Me / League reporting
« on: April 11, 2017, 12:09:37 PM »
Hello:

I run an annual league and we have our formula working properly for points for our nightly games.

I would like the season stats to reflect the 6 best scores from league games. The league is 10 games, although not everyone plays all 10 games.

Is this possible within Tournament Director?

General Discussion / Traveling to England - Looking for games in Pubs?
« on: April 09, 2013, 12:44:37 PM »
Hello:
My darling better half and I will be in England for 9 Days. Our time will be split between York / London / Dorset.

Just wondering if anyone know of any games that we might join in in those areas. Personal recommendations appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Help Me / Our Annual Blind Bid WSOP November Nine Game
« on: December 07, 2012, 10:04:24 AM »
Hello:

I have a couple of Tournament Director "How To" Questions. I suspect there is an easy way to accomplish what I need to do, but I am just not seeing it. First of all, some background on the event we run annually. This is copied from our site...
The last two years we have run this, it has been a very popular game. This is a chance to relive the glory of the 2012 WSOP November Nine and grind it out in an 8 hour game to earn top prize and top honours. We are pleased to offer up the third annual WSOP November Nine Blind Bid Event

2012 WSOP Blind Bid Event

----- Format -----
This is the re-enactment of the November Nine final table 2012 WSOP Main Event and as such there will be different chip stacks in a certain order on the table. This will be the same format that I ran last year with a blind bid system in place for players to submit their bids in advance of the game. High bid gets high stack, and so on. I will publish the Bid Procedure as we get closer to the event. In the meantime, let's check out what this year's game looks like...

Here are the players and stacks for this year's event...
1. 43,875,000 - Jesse Sylvia - SEAT 6
2. 29,375,000 - Andras Koroknai - SEAT 8
3. 28,725,000 - Greg Merson - SEAT 5
4. 24,800,000 - Russell Thomas - SEAT 1
5. 16,860,000 - Steven Gee - SEAT 4
6. 16,260,000 - Michael Esposito - SEAT 9
7. 15,155,000 - Robert Salaburu - SEAT 7
8. 13,115,000 - Jacob Balsiger - SEAT 2
9. 09,805,000 - Jeremy Ausmus - SEAT 3

We are going to run with the 2011 WSOP Blind structure and starting levels. I have Tournament Director set up already for that. Levels are 45 minutes.

LVL - ANTE - BLINDS (Likely 45 Minute Levels)
36 - 50,000 - 250,000  /  500,000
37 - 75,000 - 300,000  /  600,000
38 - 100,000 - 400,000  /  800,000
39 - 150,000 - 500,000  /  1,000,000

Remove 25,000 Chips

40 - 200,000 - 600,000  /  1,200,000
41 - 200,000 - 800,000  /  1,600,000
42 - 300,000 - 1,000,000  /  2,000,000
43 - 300,000 - 1,200,000  /  2,400,000
44 - 400,000 - 1,500,000  /  3,000,000
45 - 500,000 - 2,000,000  /  4,000,000
46 - 500,000 - 2,500,000  /  5,000,000
47 - 1,000,000 - 3,000,000  /  6,000,000

Payouts will be top 3 spots and the payout percentages are as follows: 60%, 30%, & 10%. The actual payout amounts will not be known until we know what the top 9 bids are.

This year's game will be held on Saturday, December 8th and will be an all day event, same as last year. It is potluck so bring a dish to share. We are doing Pulled Pork in the slow cooker again.

Remember. There are more than 9 people who wish to play in this game. When the bids are revealed, only the top 9 bids play. How bad do you want to play?

My questions are as such:
(1) Is there a way I can input the starting chip stacks into Tournament Director for each player?
(2) Is there an easy way to assign names to seat number without having to use the randomly seat players and and hope we get the right seating assignment to mirror the tournament. (I randomized the seating until a player was in the proper seat and them locked that player and randomized the others until they were correct. That seems long and cumbersome and I bet there is a better way to do this).

Thanks in advance...

Help Me / Having a Player with a Bounty on his Head
« on: November 08, 2009, 07:49:05 PM »
Hello:

There is a series of games where we want to randomly assign a bounty on a player and have that player's name show on teh main tournament director screen. What is the variable we can use to reference the name seleted on teh prize screen for player bounty?

In this group, the person is so special, their name should be advertised. :)

Thanks in advance.

Suggestions / Video Tutorial
« on: January 31, 2008, 02:41:51 PM »
I did a few searches in the forums and did not find any hits so I thought I would post this.

With all of the questions and how-to posts related to formulas, layouts, running tournaments, etc., it occured to me that a series of short YouTube tutorial videos might be a great addition. I have some production software that allows me to post a video to YouTube, but I do not have a deep understanding of the software nor do I think I have a good way with presenting information.

This would probbaly serve a multitude of purposes.
(1) This would answer may questions for those who learn visually.
(2) It would address many things that a manual cannot, techniques and tips for configuring certain settings & features.
(3) This would likely be a good marketing tool for the software itself.

Videos on YouTube can be up to 100mb each and hosting is free. Curious what other people think about this idea...

Help Me / Stats Question for our Poker Series
« on: April 30, 2007, 11:13:07 AM »
Hello everyone:

I am not sure if what I am looking for can be accomplished in TD, but it is worth asking. There are many clever minds in the group...

We run a Poker Series from January to October. In November the top eight ranked players meet at a final table for the big prize. I commit to hosting a minimum of 20 games throughout the series and each night consists of two table with 8 players each. The sixteen seats are sold on a first come first serve basis. Some players get many games in and some only get a few in.

The players Series Points are based on the BEST seven games out of the player's FIRST ten games played. This structure was in place before we started to use the tracking features in TD. Now that we have started to uncover the benefits and features of TD we are curious to ffind out if the stats can reflect this in any way.

Any help or guidance on how to accomplish this in TD would be appreciated...
...Matt
