Help Me / prefs.sav
« on: September 29, 2010, 08:12:21 AM »
Is it possible to change the location of the prefs.sav file? Would like to keep it out of site...maybe have TD2 copy it from the install folder to the (maybe templates) folder like all other files.

Beta Testing / Cell contents
« on: September 24, 2010, 04:13:19 PM »
When double clicking on a cell for its properties, the "Contents" preview pane does not display the entire contents of my cell. Can you set it set it so that I can view the contents (as much as possible) without having to open up the contents?

Beta Testing / Too late?
« on: September 24, 2010, 03:39:23 PM »
Would it be too late to have an indicator in the toolbox (possibly a border or maybe a small X) on cells that are not being used in any cells? I've just built a layout using several screens and after packaging it up, I realized that there were several cells created that weren't used and not needed. Double clicking on any cell and then clicking Used By is a long job if I am using many cells.

Beta Testing / export feature on players tab
« on: September 23, 2010, 09:42:10 PM »
HI Corey, I came across an issue that is not TD2 related but may have caused me some issues later on. When I exported my players results from the Players Tab, the .csv file created produced an error. Excel indicated that it was a "SYLK" file and could not be opened. A quick google search turned up the issue. When the first two characters of a csv file are "I" and "D" in capital letters excel thinks it is an SYLK file.
I have moved my columns around so that the first column is not the ID of the player and the error disappeared. To prevent others from possibly panicking could you either have TD2 export the "ID" characters in lowercase or prevent "ID" from being the first problem?

Suggestions / Busting Players from Tables Tab
« on: September 01, 2010, 06:16:06 PM »
Hi Corey,
When I bust a player from the Tables Tab, right clicking on a player that is on one of the tables at the bottom of the screen opens up the dialog box with all the options for that player (including Bust Out), however, the dialog box opens up towards the bottom and therefore most of the options are not visible nor accessible. Can you program TD2 (next release) to open this dialog box towards the top of the screen if it will not fit on the screen?
The real quick workaround for me is either to drag/drop this player to an open seat where I can bust out or to go to the controls tab and bust out from there, however once I start busting form one screen it is a little more convenient to continue on that screen.
Quick example of what I mean, show your desktop, right-click on the top of the screen, then right click on the bottom. The dialog box will not open up if there is a lack of room.
Thanks,
Jody

Beta Testing / This should be easy
« on: August 08, 2010, 01:36:35 AM »
We have had to disqualify players midway through our tournament a few times, and we also place 10 stacks on each table for latecomers and they are blinded out through the first 60 minutes then removed. Could we have an "Adjust Chipcount" somewhere so we can either add or remove chips from the total chipcount, thereby keeping average as acurate as possible?
Thanks,
Jody

Help Me / Put this into a formula...
« on: July 26, 2010, 02:33:17 AM »
Hi Corey and anyone else that can tackle this...
Here is an excerpt of an email I recieved about the points system used by a league here in Canada (LTPQ). I haven't any clue how to write a formula for this...

Quote...
First we determine the leading pack (lp) which is = 30% (rounded down) of
the number of participants in the tournament (P), then we substract the
leading pack (lp) from the number of participants (P) to get the remaining
field (F).

30%P = lp
P-lp = F

Arbitrarily, the first player eliminated from the leading pack receives 250
points. The second one, 400 points and each player after that, 100
additional points.

It's quite hard to put in a formula.

Then the field is divided by 10 to find out how many players will be in each
bracket of ten points. The remaining decimal is added to the number of
players getting 10 points.

So, if F = 45, F/10 = 4.5 then, 4 players will get 100 points, 4 other
players 90 points, etc, and 9 players will receive 10 points.

End Quote.
Thanks to all that can help

Help Me / Challenge for all...Including Corey..
« on: June 08, 2010, 11:49:52 PM »
Most of my layouts have flash animations embedded in them. When the .swf file is local, TD2 will update any changes I make to the swf file during the tournament when I press F2 (or when my screens rotate). However, when the swf files are on a network drive (or in the case of my last layout located on the internet), the swf animations will not update. They update only if TD2 is shut down and restarted.
F2, loading a different layout and coming back to the original, removing the cell then putting it back in do not update the animation.

Unfortunately, I need to store the swf file on the internet so I can update the animation when I am on the road or simply not at work.
Thanks All,
Jody

General Discussion / New Layout for all to use
« on: May 03, 2010, 06:07:59 PM »
I have finished my Star Wars layout. There is a flash animation that starts at 1:40 seconds of the countdown. The text that appears can be changed. E-mail me and I will modify it for you. As with my other layouts, special fonts are needed and they are included in the zip file. If anyone else has a layout to share, send it off to me and I'll put it with mine so we can all share together.
