or you could delete the mock tournaments by deleting the files in found in C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\My Documents\The Tournament Director 2\Data\saves

The user name in bold letters would be the account your computer is running under

General Discussion / FGWP Fun Game I Want to Play
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:33:01 PM »
I was listening to an older Top Pair Podcast and they suggested a great tournament idea that I want to create. Unfortunately I won't be able to do it for a few months but I think it will be a lot of fun

This NL Holdem tournament is based off the November Nine. Basically after the main event from WSOP breaks when it gets its final table we will know who the players are and what their chipstacks will be when they reconvene in November to play the rest of the game. So our game is based off those same chip stacks, and possibly the same position. But who gets who's chips? This will be decided by a silent auction. All nine contestants will make a private bid on how much he/she thinks the chip stacks are worth. The person with the highest bid gets the biggest chip stack, second gets second biggest and so on. That money that is bidded will become the prize pool. I think this will make an incredibly fun and unpredictable series of events that should make for a fun game.

If you think about last November Nine, Davin Moon had such a massive chip stack that it would be worth establishing a lot of money to secure his chip stack, but you will be competing against others to get that chip stack, this might drive the prize pool WAAAAYYYY up. Also some people may want to play for a chip and a chair and only bid $1 to get the lowest chip stack and take thier chances...

General Discussion / PodCasts
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:19:56 PM »
I got an iPod Touch for Christmas and ever since I have been addicted to pod casts. I listen to them all the time and use my iPod for podcasts over music now. If you don't know what a podcast is, it is a pre-recorded series of audio or video segments that usually have a common theme. Think of podcasts as pre-recorded talk radio stations that focus on specific themes. There are quite a few poker related podcasts. I have just found one for the home games and I wanted to share this with all of you, since a lot of us use The Tournament Director for our home games. Go to Toppair.net to get the podcast episodes and also their forum to interact with the hosts. They talk about alot of different things that I have incorporated personally for my home games and even more that I would like to start doing. It is a very slick professionally made broadcast that I think people here would really enjoy.

Btw, you don't need an iPod to listen to the broadcast, you can listen to them right off the computer. Another podcast that I listen to religiously is the 2 plus 2 pokercast. You can search them on iTunes or you can listen to their podcast on their forums. 2 plus 2 pokercast link. They deal with lots and lots of poker issues, news and celebrities. They have great interviews with all the famous poker pros like Daniel Negranau, Phil Laak, Mike Sexton and more, plus interviews with a lot of up and coming online poker players.

If you listen to podcasts, why don't you make some suggestions, I still have some spare time in my day where I can listen to some new content

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: BBT - Layout
« on: March 19, 2010, 06:28:39 AM »
another tip, change your resolution on your computer to the resolution of the device you will be actually displaying and then take a snapshot of the layout and then you can go back to your computer's normal setting... this is if you are doing layouts for other people or plan on using multiple displays. If you don't do this you may find that the text doesn't line up properly with the graphics

Help Me / Re: extended display and asus a6u
« on: March 06, 2010, 08:56:48 AM »
I guess just make sure your extended display is on dual display, not clone

having said that, everytime I go to move my game screen to the other display, the game screen disappears too... my workaround, and I don't know why it works, is to bring game screen back to original monitor and repeat... usually the second or third time it will work

I also found it confusing at first, and then annoying... I guess its just the way you look at it... ie we are looking at it like buyin plus rake and its currently looked at like total buyin minus rake... we are accustomed to looking at two separate numbers in any and all tournaments that we see online or in casinos and do our mental adding of the two

Phaze,

You use an HTC Touch smartphone to control a computer running TD is that correct?  Can you elaborate?  I will search the board.

I believe your HTC Touch smartphone can run apps... If this is true then you most likely will be able to control your computer from your phone, or your laptop... Here is what you need:

- Computer with TD and hooked up to a wireless router (wireless not totally necessary but I think preferable otherwise you open yourself to letting anyone take control of your computer
- RealVNC installed on your computer
- A VNC client program app installed on your smartphone or touch. If using Iphone or Itouch you can use VNC Lite which is free. If you use Android maybe check out VNC Lite version for Android

Once apps and programs installed you just basically have to set up a VNC server on your computer and then hook up with your phone/touch with the app... basically the only tricky part is how to find your IP... If your phone/touch is wifi'd with your home computer, its that much easier

What you see on your computer monitor is what you see on your phone/touch screen but you can zoom in and out and if you know your hotkeys off by heart than you navigate that way (since macs don't do F keys)

BTW, this is how I play Pokerstars on my Touch...

Note, you can set this up so that you can control your computer over the net as well... Just keep in mind that anyone with VNC maybe can log on and once they do, they have complete control of your computer... PASSWORD your VNC!

I ran a tourny from my touch using VNC... the clock was one second behind actual clock and inputing was a bit slower than doing it on the computer... However, it was faster and easier to stay in my chair and do it then to get up from the other side of the table where I might be sitting to do it... Since we play in two rooms, one table can see the computer monitor and the other cannot, seeing the time and blinds on the touch was a crowd favorite and furthermore it was really easy to use... The only way it could be easier was if TD had its own app... I would so use this app a lot... I can see lots of potential

open up the tournament in question and on the tournament screen hit the "b" button on your keyboard. This is the hotkey for addons. It will probably tell you that there are no addons at this time or something like that but will have an override button... click on that and add your add on

Help Me / Re: Concerns with using TD on plasmas?
« on: January 28, 2010, 07:49:15 PM »
hey jody, couldn't you make a SWG file that slightly moves pixals around a bit to help offset burn? kinda like plasma orbiter functions built into plasmas

BTW Jody... could you write up an article on how to use swg files in TD... I'd be interested in that
