Title: Help with Prizes
Post by: efdenny on October 01, 2012, 11:07:58 PM
In our tournaments, we have an optional add-on at the beginning of the tournament.  What we'd like to do is award a percentage to the first person out of the tournament as a consolation... however, they have to have purchased the add-on to be eligible.  So, in other words, award it to the first person out that has purchased the add-on.  For example, if we have 20 people in the tournament, and 18 people purchase the $5 add-on, we would take $1 of each add-on ($18) and award it to the first person out, but only if they were one of the 18.  If the first person out is not eligible, the prize goes to the first eligible player knocked out.  Make sense?

This seems pretty complex, and with my limited knowledge of manipulating the prizes template, I'm stumped as to how to do this.  Any thoughts??

It could just be me, but I think it is something that would have to kind of be looked at directly by you. However, you would be able to create a prize on the prizes tab, and manually award it to the first person eligible. But how to do that? One way that I'm aware of would be to look on the players tabs, and use the add on section (might be part of the buy in, I don't quite remember, it's been a while, and in the middle of a move from Green Bay to Denver).

As far as being able to fully automate it, I personally don't know of a way (but that doesn't mean that there isn't a way)

Sounds like a manual prize to me.
