Title: Edit .jpg images?
Post by: tekcor1 on March 06, 2009, 10:59:41 AM
First I want to say what an amazing program Corey! I just downloaded it a few days ago, and plan on buying the registered version after my first tourney on Tuesday.

Now my question:
Can anyone tell me how to edit a .jpg image to be a different shape? I've got mockups of my chips that I put into TD, but they are squares instead of circles, and don't look very good when displayed. If I can crop them down to circles, they will look like the default chips which look great! Any help is appreciated!

Here are my chips for reference:

I use photoshop and that works great.  I can crop them for you but I won't be able to do it until Sunday.
To much going on this Friday and Saturday with the family.  When I finish, I'll post them here for you.

you should change them to .gif format and make the white background transparent.  I can't do it from work but it isn't tough.

OK---how about these?

They are in .gif format, so they should fit your needs now.

Nice chips, BTW

Scotty,

Those worked great. Thanks! Did you use photoshop to crop them? I may have to pick up a program that I can do that sort of thing.

I did indeed use Photoshop; I converted your .jpg images to Photoshop format, then removed the white areas using the "magic wand", then saved the new image as a .gif.  The entire process took me about 5 minutes to do all of the chips.

Photoshop is somewhat expensive, however, and the learning curve is rather steep; I find that I learn to do something new almost every time I use it.  There are features there that I have not even begun to figure out how to use.

But I have been able to do some really cool things with it.  If you would like to see, check this out:

Just scroll down the page, and you can see some of the logos that I was able to make for our league using Photoshop.
