Suggestions / Re-buying & Player Chips
« on: November 27, 2010, 02:07:37 PM »
Corey,

Ok we can limit re-buys by the rounds but how about having a limit in the amount of chips someone can have in relationship to purchasing a re-buy. Some of my games I do have people who want to play thats on a budget in terms to what they can spend. To put a stop on someone who has doubled up his or her chips just before the Add-on I would like to limit the re-buys to those that have less than 3000 chips in order to purchase a re-buy. This keeps players that have huge stacks of chips from purchasing a re-buy just to add chips their stack heading towards the later rounds. Yes this great for the pot but it has pissed off some players that do not have the funds to buy buy a re-buy and a add-on.

As of right now I limit all players to 1 rebuy and 1 add-on provided the player wanting to purchase a re-buy has 3000 chips or less.

Help Me / Question In Regards To Saving Tournament Information
« on: November 27, 2010, 12:58:33 PM »
Let’s say I run a tournament that last 6 hours and the tournament has completed. Does the software automatically save all information that was collected throughout the tournament, Bust Outs, Re-buys, Add-on, etc.? The reason I ask is I ran a tournament a few weeks ago and when I went to retrieve the info. I had nothing to retrieve.

Under STATS I have 5 tournaments showing that are incomplete due to my testing. Can these be deleted? I want to simulate a tournament and collect the info. to check it out...

So I'm just curious what software you (were?) running your tournaments with (on the PC in the photo of your poker room)...   ;)

That would be Poker Tournament Supervisor. It’s a work in progress much like Tournament Director. Each release improvements are made by suggestions made by users. The next release is supposed to keep a database of all users among other changes. One of the key features I like is that the software is link with the free Microsoft voice pack. This allows the changing of blinds to be announced at each round level with a voice stating the blinds and blind level and  breaks. Very easy software to use and understand. Not as complex and versatile as TD but the voice pack adds a nice touch. To run a tournament and not need all the whistles and bells it’s great. I can add my chip images as well. Where the chips are located this turns into a scrolling banner with what text the in users wants to apply. The banner kicks in every once in awhile then back to the chips. I use it on my laptop for quick pop up games. TD has found a home on my desktop computer for larger events.

That's because you selected a GIF file (an image file).  I know it can be confusing.  The Table Images dialog allows you to display your tables in 3 different ways:

(1) If you leave an entry blank, the table will be displayed in the standard "box" format.
(2) If you select an image file (.gif, .jpg, .png, etc), the table will be displayed in the standard "box" format, but the selected image will be used as the background (this is what you are seeing in your last posted screen shot).
(3) If you select a table blueprint file (.xml), the table will be displayed according to the blueprint.

You want to select a blueprint file.  When you press the Browse... button on the Table Images dialog to select a file, it *should* automatically open to your "templates" folder, which is where the blueprints that come with the software are stored, and the "Files of type" selection should have "XML Files" selected.  Thus, without doing anything (changing folders or the file type), you should immediately see the dozen or so blueprints that come with the software.

That did the trick... Corey is all this covered  in the help files?

The Table Images feature allows you to mix and match different table images, including the default "box" format.  On the Table Images dialog, you have 2 table images defined, so the dialog looks like this:

The first line (001: <none>) represents what will be used for the first table in your defined Tables, and the second line (002: <DataStore>\templates\RacetrackTenSeatTableBlueprintLarge.xml) represents what will be used for the second table in your defined tables.  Since the first line has no table blueprint listed (i.e., it is "<none>"), then the default "box" format is used.  The second one is referencing a table blueprint.  This is why you see a "box" table and a table image on your Seating Chart page.

Since you've only got one table defined on your Tables tab, you only see players seated at the first table on the Seating Chart page, which happens to be the "box" table.  Add a second table on the Tables tab and seat someone at it and you'll see them show up on the table image on the Seating Chart page.

Go back and delete the first table on the Table Images dialog.  That will sort it out.

Corey, I did what you said. I made another table seated and bought players in. I deleted one of the tables and this is now what I have.

No such luck. I delete the table and all players. I selected a new table, bought the players in and seated the players to the table. When I click on the seating chart I get the box listing the players and a blank poker table below the box...

when you buy them in they should show up on the tables after you seat them     Tables needed is  ( Number of columns ) to the left of Edit Table Images add 1 for 1 table  2 for 2 tables and so on    and the box table image should go away and just show table(s)

I unseated everyone and did a new rebuy for everyone but the names do not show up on the table just in the box...

Thanks to the both of you... Now when I first loaded TD on my computer and I click on seating chart after I had players seated I saw the small table with the names on the table with the square box with the names. In this screen shot I took of the table image and added the names. I am sure there must be a way that the software adds the names...

Seating Chart tab or button, right click, click seating chart property, click edit table image, click add then click browse they should be there you must have tables set up first at least 1 table or the won't show on the screen

Maybe I missed something. Here is what I got when I clicked on seat chart from the toolbox. I have a table with asigned players. I do not see where click seating chart property or edit table image is located. Sorry I am new to TD...

Viper, yes, TD does have an assortment of pics that you can use for the tables. They're in the <data store>\data\images where <data store> refers to the path where TD was installed to (something like C:\users\Mike\The Tournament Director 2\  for example). I personally use either the small racetrack, or medium racetrack - can't remember which one I put in there. But there is a large racetrack style there too. do you know how to get it to show on the screen?

No... I have been seaching the help files but its such a huge file and how its label is hard to locate...

Help Me / Seating Chart Question
« on: November 22, 2010, 10:06:20 PM »
Does TD of an image already installed of a table that shows the players seated. When I first started using TD and I click on seat chart I saw a very small image of a table, but I am looking for a much large image that I see on TD's website.
