Help Me / HTML for dummies
« on: November 04, 2006, 07:41:57 AM »
Okay.... I am not going to lie... I have no HTML experience.  I am great with Excel, but HTML.... not so much.   Okay, I have exported my stats to HTML.  Next I was able to go to the rules tab and use the HTML as the source.  So, I have the stats up where I want them.  However, here is where I am stuck.  The table needs to be spaced out more horizontally, and the font is black -- where I need it to be white.  Any help on this?  Just to give you an idea.... these are the columns I am using in my stats table:

First Name
Last Name
Points
Total Winnings
Buy-Ins
Rebuys
Add-ons
First
Second
Third
Hits

Any help would be appreciated.

Corey,

Could we use a modified formula, such as "MAX(r)" to have TD determine to number of players?  Then use IF formulas?
EX: To distinguish between paying 5 with more than 12 players, and paying4 with 12 or less

If(MAX(r)>12,
    IF(r=1,(n-r)+7,IF(r=2,(n-r)+5,IF(r=3,(n-r)+4,IF(r=4,(n-r)+3,IF(r=5,(n-r)+2,(n-r)+1))))),
    IF(r=1,(n-r)+6,IF(r=2,(n-r)+4,IF(r=3,(n-r)+3,IF(r=4,(n-r)+2,(n-r)+1))))))

Would this work, theoretically?  (At work, not on computer that has game installed.... shhhh!  ;))

Yes, unfortunately... I am having the EXACT same problem as you.... I just have three base tournaments saved with those three formulas.  When I need to start a new one, I load whichever tournament has the right formula, then save it as something different before I begin

007Ian,

I am running into a similar problem because I have a similar setup as far as point payout.  We have significantly smaller fields, but I do adjust how many are in the money based on number of players and those who finish in the money get the added bonus of more points for the same reason -- the last place money finisher only gets his/her money back.  In addition, any player that plays gets at least one point, making it detrimental to miss one of the tourneys in the season, and also giving the winner more points based on how many people actually played.  Here are the formulas I use (courtesy of Corey) to take a look at to maybe get some ideas??

For paying 5:
=IF(r=1,(n-r)+7,IF(r=2,(n-r)+5,IF(r=3,(n-r)+4,IF(r=4,(n-r)+3,IF(r=5,(n-r)+2,(n-r)+1)))))

For paying four:
=IF(r=1,(n-r)+6,IF(r=2,(n-r)+4,IF(r=3,(n-r)+3,IF(r=4,(n-r)+2,(n-r)+1)))))

For just paying three:
=IF(r=1,(n-r)+5,IF(r=2,(n-r)+3,IF(r=3,(n-r)+2,(n-r)+1)))))

Help Me / Points as whole numbers
« on: October 25, 2006, 08:28:33 AM »
I was hoping to find my answer in the post about half points, but to no avail.  I am looking for a way to have my points result in whole numbers, such as 4, instead of it reading 4.00 as the point total.  Is there a way to change this?  Thanks.

Help Me / SOLUTION -- Viewing tournament on more than one computer
« on: October 11, 2006, 09:03:41 AM »
I had run into the problem of running TD on a laptop in the poker room I am seated in, and being able to view everything on another laptop in the other poker room.  I have come up with a solution.  Because I am not technically savvy... I found a program that is pretty straight forward, easy to use, and is free.  It is run from a website called www.logmein.com and works like a charm.  It allows you to view fullscreen on the host and remote to solve this problem.  I only have two laptops, so I haven't tested it on using more than one computer.

Does the implementation of the "inthemoney" formula entry help out with simplifying my nested if formulae?  This is what I have so far:

=IF(r=1,(n-r)+7,IF(r=2,(n-r)+5,IF(r=3,(n-r)+4,IF(r=4,(n-r)+3,IF(r=5,(n-r)+2,(n-r)+1))))), where the top 5 are in the money.

When you load a tournament, does it load all the templates associated with that tournament when you saved it?  For example, I want to have a different When you load a tournament, does it load all the templates associated with that tournament when you saved it?  For example, I want to have a different payout schedules and blinds based on number of players.  If when I save a tournament named “Less than 20 players”, I have the blinds schedule named “Less than 20 players” and a payout schedule named “Less than 20 players” loaded, will the blind and payout format be saved with the tournament, effectively reduce the number of loads from 3 to 1?

Help Me / Player Ranking Column Widths
« on: September 21, 2006, 03:06:41 PM »
Is there a way to widen the columns for the Player Rankings page?  I am only showing four columns, and they are wide enough to fit all of the info in them, but there is all of this extra space on both the left and right of the set of columns.... Is there a way to make them even width, but take up the entire screen?

Help Me / Using RealVNC or TightVNC
« on: September 20, 2006, 09:07:37 PM »
As a computer idiot as I call myself, how do I use either of these programs on my two laptops to be able to use one and view the other?  I want to run TD on laptop 1 in the room with the main table, while laptop 2 will be in the other room with the other table, just viewing the clock as it is displayed on laptop 1.  Can someone walk me through it step-by-step?  Thanks!

Does the formula field accept nested if formulas?
