Suggestions / Re: Rebuys before the start of next round.
« on: June 17, 2007, 05:24:32 AM »
I don't understand here... There must be something I missed. If a player is busted out within "limits" so to speak, a dialog box opens asking me if the player wants to do a re-buy. If the round has finished (according to my previous posts), there *is* no dialog box appearing, the player is just kicked out. I don't get a dialog box or anything offering me to override. what am I doing wrong?

That is exactly how the program is set up. But:

We have set TD to "disable rebuys after round 2". The thing is, as the second round finishes, TD doesn't allow any more rebuys even if the clock stops at the end of round 2 even if round 3 never starts.  As our rules states, the clock doesn't start for the next round until the last ongoing hand in the actual round is finished. (We start it manually.) If that hand is going into a H-U, the option for a rebuy is gone for the busted player. What would fix the probem for us is if you coded the "no-rebuys" to start at the moment the *next* round start instead of when the selected round finishes.

It is frustrating to explain complex problems in one's seccond language. I hope I made myself more clear this time.
And no, I'm not telling you that I am an English teacher :-)

Suggestions / Rebuys before the start of next round.
« on: June 15, 2007, 04:36:50 AM »
In our homegame, the general meaning is that it should be possible to allow re-buys before the next round begins instead of before the actual round ends. At our tourney the clock stops at the end of each round to let the actual hand finish. If a heads-up occur at that time (it has happenned twice already) it is considered "unfair" amongst the busted players to not be able to do a re-buy as the following round hasn't started. As it is now, my only solution is to manually stop the clock everytime an ongoing hand is at the end of the blinds period. Is there another solution?

Help Me / Points for playing formula problem
« on: December 29, 2006, 06:27:27 AM »
Hello!

Our new leauge will be a 15-game leauge with a final where the starting chips will be determined depending how well the players have played during the season. We are 6-8 players, always the same guys.

The points (i.e the chips the player will bring to the final table) a player gets are fixed depending on how many players there are in each separate game, like this:

8 players
1st   10000
2nd   7000
3rd    5000
4       4000
5       3000
6       2000
7       1000
8         500

7 players
1st    9000
2nd   6000
3rd    4000
4       3000
5       2000
6       1000
7         500

6 players
1st    8000
2nd   5000
3rd    3000
4       2000
5       1000
6         500

My solution is to make 3 different games; "8 players", "7 players", "6 players", set the points manually and load the proper game every time.
I am sure this can be done with a formula. Not by me, though. I am useless when it comes to making them, I just don´t understand the math. *sigh*
Can anyone help?

Thanx in advance,

/Jörn

Help Me / Problem with ü when exporting to HTML
« on: September 22, 2006, 03:42:58 PM »
One of the players at my table has the nick Günther. (with a German ü ) The stats in the exported HTML document shows him as G? but the program can handle his nick everywhere else. It´s no big deal really, but it would look better if the HTML document could handle it. Is it something I can do?

Beta Testing / Re: Stat screen Bug
« on: September 22, 2006, 03:27:28 PM »
Tim, I can't imagine why the software would now run more slowly.  Well, maybe I can.  But I can think of only one thing that has changed as far as updating the tournament screen goes, and that's the addition of background images to cells, rows, and columns.  But I noticed no appreciable speed difference when I added this feature.  There is also the addition of styles, but unless you create some, they have no effect.  Backgrounds are always set, but without you setting the properties a cell's (or row's or column's) background, I can't imagine it slowing anything down.

The Bust Players Out dialog is bound to be a little slower, since I changed it from a "select" list to a checkbox list.  The select list was initially used precisely for its speed - it renders very quickly, but it's a bit unwieldy when selecting multiple items, and it doesn't allow for "columns" of data.  On that dialog in particular I made every speed adjustment I could, and I weighed whether or not it should be changed, but consistency won out and I just had to be resigned to the fact that it will take more time to render.

Is there any more precise information you can give me?  I really don't want to slow the app down any more than it already is.

I can´t give you more precise information either, but It´s the same for me. The program runs *much* slower comparing to what it did before the upgrade on my laptop (1.8ghz, 512 ram) than before. I can´t notice anything on my PC tho. (P4 2.67 ghz, 1 gig ram) It is most noticeable when I use the "Refresh Torneys" function. I can live with it, but I must admit that I regretted my upgrade a short while when I noticed it. 10 sec (or something like that) longer before the stats is calculated seems like a long time when you are eager to find out if you still are the season leader. :-D

This is my new layout including one of my logos my sister made for me. She told me she is interrested in making custom made logos on request when I told her someone on this forum wanted one done. If anyone is interrested, feel free to mail me and I will forward it to her. jorn.eriksen (at) gmail.com

Ok, thanx for the reply. At least now, I don´t have to sit endless hours trying. :-) Did I mention I´m worthless when it comes to theese things?

Yes, that´s what I want.
If I "insert token"-"clock", the clock appears besides my image, instead I want it just as CanopicJar explained.
The code is: <img src="C:/Program/The Tournament Director 2.0/Graphics/spm.jpg" border="0"><clock and the result is as shown in the dump.

Hi all, I have just downloaded 2.0 and I am amazed about all the possible settings. I have just had my sister to make me a logo and after several attempts I managed to get it where I wanted to. Now, to the question: I would like to be able to put the tournament clock "on top" of my logo, is there a way to do this?

And yes, we actually call ourselfes Poker Muppets :-) (Sörby is a part of Gävle, Sweden)
