Suggestions / Re: Seat players before buy-in?
« on: March 22, 2006, 05:39:32 PM »
Build your database before hand which you must be doing to seat all your players.

Once you have the database created you will beable to check off, one by one as they pay.

Once that is completed you can seat the players occording to your random seat placement.

If you are organized you can get your prelimary list created before hand.  You know that you will be getting 22 people for sure.  Get there names and enter them into the database.

If any additional player arrive you can them as they come in.

Once you run the randow seating chart You make the Number 1 seat person the button and he sits in any seat.  Then according to the left of seat one is seat two and so on.

What is the issue that you are having exactly.
Are you scared people sitting may play for free?

I ended up doing that but If I wanted to adjust the prize pool during a tourney it does not work well.

So the % should just be the total Prize pot and no other variables involved.

I will give you a scenario

total prize pot: $1260

Suggestions / Prize breakdown problem I ran into the other night.
« on: March 07, 2006, 06:34:32 AM »
I used the new version for the first time in a live environment.  Things worked out very nicely.  There was one little problem that I ran into.   The suggestion for the payout gave us 6 places for 28 players.  That was fine with me, but the person that was the original host of the home tourney wanted to add a 7th place during the event.  I sort of disagreed for the reason that we used the previous version in the past 3 events and used the suggested payout structure.  No real biggie until I added the 7th place as a fix number while adjusting the percentage on 1st and 2nd.  This skewed the entire pay structure and did not give the correct amount.

I ended up just using my personal excel sheet that I have built over the past 2.5 years while running various poker tourneys.

Did anyone else experience this problem.

Love the new features of the database and cleaner look.

I heard a rule of thumb is to have 100x the BB in chips.

I would assume that the programmer would be able to impliment this into future upgrades.

Suggestions / Time display problem

I have a laptop
700 Mhz
320 MB Ram
and a F%^&ed up HDD.

With reference to the time display, elapse time and Session time.

I noticed a delay between the various clocks with secs being missed.
I would like to be able to display the Actual time, but not the seconds. The other clocks I think are ok to have the second accept when the elapse time exceeds 1 hour.

If there is a way I can modify it myself that would be great.

Love the input from other poker freaks.
I will upload mine when I get home.

I run 1000 chip 16-30 person tourney each month w/30 min session.  It runs for about 4-5 hours

Suggestions / Suggestion for Sessions problems
« on: February 23, 2006, 07:39:53 AM »
I have used the previous version for about a year now and thought it was a great help for running a tourney of any size.

Now that I got the newer version I tried the suggestion for ROUNDS.  For some reason if I plug in the number of players, Chip and duration the first round is always 5/10 then it jumps.

Anyone else having that problem?
