Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Help with background image
« on: March 10, 2012, 04:09:12 PM »
Before my old computer went up in flames and I lost all previous files, I used to have a layout I liked. It has been over a year since I hosted a tournament so I am building things from scratch again. Layouts have always been difficult for me.

My current problem is I'd like to use four different background images (the four suits) and have them randomly used as a background during each level. I just want one randomly selected for that round when it starts. Is that possible?

Also, I can't seem to figure out how to have my global properties override all backgrounds other cells may have set up. Any idea what I may need to do for that? If anything, that is the most basic problem. I can live without the first thing being possible.

Thanks again guys. I'll fiddle around with those ideas this weekend.

I think I've almost got this entirely figured out. Thanks to your help I was able to configure two separate events to fire two consecutive sounds for the ending of Round 4 using:
(isRound) and (state = 2) and (roundNum = 4) and (secondsLeft = 93)
AND
(isRound) and (state = 2) and (roundNum = 4) and (secondsLeft = 90)
respectively.

However, my end of round countdown for all other rounds is now not firing anymore (it was firing in the middle of the other countdown previously, but I fixed that. My non-Round 3  countdown consists of three separate events that look like this:
(secondsLeft = 35) and (not isRound = 4)
AND
(secondsLeft = 32) and (not isRound = 4)
AND
(secondsLeft = 2) and (not isRound = 4)
respectively.

Can someone see what the problem might be. The special Round 4 events have been placed about the general round events. Could that also be a problem?

Thanks. So if I put it first, the other one won't fire? Also, what does the "state=2" function do? I'm pretty green at this stuff. Thanks for your help.

Anyway to incorporate that for a version 2 license owner?

Help Me / Event help: Play sound all rounds but round 4
« on: March 06, 2012, 11:39:35 PM »
Hello folks,

I could not find the answer via search though there were some close ones. I have a special sound effect I am using for round four which is when my rebuys end. I want to use another sound for the end of the rest of the rounds. Anybody know how I can set this up without creating individual events for each of the other rounds?

Thanks.

I see. I'll have to take a closer look at that. I remember that was one thing I wanted to test to make sure the bounties were awarded correctly for the old "first buster" gets is noted at the hitman.

Thanks.

Thanks Corey. Is the best way to do that, to just downsize the cells so it all fits in the 800x600 screen?

Just as a note, I have noticed that when I bust out a player (3 tourneys now), then rebuy them, the hitman still stays and the bounty is not unawarded.

Thanks.

I did take the default blue/green screen and add subtract cells so you're dead on there. Odd that it worked a few times. I must have done something w/ the display setting to screw it up.

Is there a way for me to save the default screen as an 800x600 screen or if I had to could I create my own from scratch at that resolution?

It definitely did bleed over on the big screen.

I run a rebuy tournament and we are changing the bounty award to the hitman who actually knocks the person out of the tournament. I think I just figured out my own answer.

I was trying to avoid awarding the bounty when someone rebuys and I guess as long as I don't 'bust out' and then rebuy, it won't ask for a hitman.

Is the solution just to rebuy the person only? I think that will work.

Help Me / Help w/ Auto Resize
« on: April 26, 2007, 11:19:03 AM »
I hook my laptop into a 40" flatscreen for our tourneys, but for some reason the last time I auto resized, instead of enlarging all text and pictures to conform to cell size, everything got as tiny as possible.

I'm no wiz w/ HTML or the layouts, though I can add and remove cells.

Any suggestions on how to help the situation?

The TV can handle up to 800x600 and I believe that's how I set up the display settings (I'm no genius w/ multiple displays either) and it handled it automatically the three tournaments before.

Thank you. Love the program Corey.
