Help Me / Re: SOUND FILES / FORMULAS / HELP
« on: July 06, 2009, 03:38:35 PM »
Hi guys, I've been using this type of sound format for around 18 months on our local league. It was a mare to set up.

It announces the tourney countdown (15 imns to go 10 mins 5 mins) then the tourney start with round num and bliinds. It also announces the breaks and the countdowns to the end fo the tourney. This si for a 16 round tourney over four hours with blinds startign at 25-50- and ending at 2000-4000. At the end a gong also goes off.

The voices are computer generated and can be modified or recreated at http://www.research.att.com/~ttsweb/tts/demo.php

Obviously you may need to alter Corey's code in my set up if you want different rounds structures and change the event times etc, but at least it will give you a good grounding and a very good start.

If anyone wants me to email this let me know where.

Regards

John

Help Me / Play a Sound on Player Exitiing Tourney
« on: July 06, 2009, 05:25:33 AM »
Is it possible (and if so how?) to play a given sound for each specific player exiting a tourney. I'm thinking after the "x" has been pressed then the appropriate player and their respective hitman has been chosen, the OK button then gets pressed and this executes a sound or wav file. Could be good fun as it screams out, "The River Rat has left the building".

Thanks in advance.

Suggestions / Flash Promotions
« on: December 21, 2008, 05:55:54 AM »
Would it be possible in the future to enable TD to be able to play short flash or other nice quality graphics during play?

We use TD at the moment on a large plasma and have tried adding animated gifs to play every so often, but the quality is very poor. Given the normal TD graphics & resolution plays very well on the same plasma, it would be great to be able to advertise local companies during play, or whoever the sponsor was for that comp or charity event.

We have tried single images but again the quality seems to drop somewhat.

If this feature is not going to happen could you please suggest the best way to display high quality graphics or animations in the current version as a background screen.

Thanks

Help Me / Re: Same formula different results
« on: August 01, 2008, 11:58:33 AM »
Hi Corey, sorry for any confusion caused.

Excel sheet and "Test Formula" page within TD show the same results (which is good) but the Summary tab in TD shows the points awarded after a tourney for be different than those obtained inthe "Test Formula" window. These are different values from those obtained using the same formula in the "Test Formula" window even if I enter data as previously mentioned - rank 1, hits = 3...etc which are all just coped from the events during the tourney?

When I click my Summary Tab from within TD it shows me who got knocked out when etc finishing position, prizes and points awarded. It is these points which are different than those being displayed in the Test Formula Window even though both formulas are the same. This is why I questioned if the rake-per-player under the Game tab was the same as the buy-in rake on the "Test Formula" page.

Sorry if I'm not explaining this very well.

Any ideas?

Help Me / Same formula different results
« on: August 01, 2008, 09:21:03 AM »
Hi all,

I am using TD and also use an Excel sheet to make extra checks on points for tourneys in our club. This has lead me to find the TD seems to show differing results using the same formula. I'm sure I'm just doing something wrong.

In a given game and series I'm using the formula:
(((  (bc+n+tnr-br)*pp)  /  (r+nr))  + (nh*bc))/2
When I use "Test Formula" from the Game tab and enter a prizepool (pp) size of 152, zero rebuys (tnr) - its a freezout - , with buyin(bc) of 25 and buyin rake (br) of 6 with 8 players (n) with three hits (nh) and rank (r) =1, I get 2090 points. This is the same for my Excel prog which is good of course.
However, when I go to the summary tab in TD it show that first place has 2,546 and not the same as the Test Formula page. it doesn't seem to take in the $6 for the buy-in rake. One the Game tab there isn't a buy-in rake but a per player rake. I'm hoping these are the same but maybe they aren't?

Any help appreciated please.

Help Me / Tournament Series Formula with Rebuys
« on: June 12, 2008, 07:29:40 AM »
Hi I would like to offer this formula which was achieved with the help of quite a few posts here. It has served us well over the last six months of a tourney we have been running. We are now playing our final table this weekend. Thanks to all those who contributed.

Basically it rewards players by where they finish in a given tourney but also penalises players if they have rebuys by approximately one place per rebuy. (in essence a rebuy is another life so one place per rebuy seems fair)

It also rewards aggressiveness and so two players who play for two hours and then are both taken out at once ny anopther player are rewarded by the number of hits they may have achieved up to that point.

((  (n+tnr)*prizepool)  /  (r+nr))  + (nh*bc)

where
n = num players
tnr = total number of rebuys
prizepool = total money being paid out in a tourney
r = rank player finishes in a tourney
nh = number of hits
bc = buy in cost
nr = number of rebuys

Thanks

Help Me / Leader board during a tournament
« on: June 12, 2008, 07:18:11 AM »
I've seen that it's possible to assign manual chips values to players at (say) a final table. I'd like to know if it's possible to create a screen that occassionally shows the current leader board and player names in order of the various standings of chip values.

Thanks

Suggestions / Re: Sort sounds
« on: June 12, 2008, 06:59:11 AM »
I have dozens of sounds too. These are matched to the type of tournament and dependant on the types of blinds and levels etc. As mentioned, when new ones are added they go to the bottom of the list making management difficult. Would be great if we could either sort these, or better still manually order them in case a plain sort isn't what's actually required.

Thanks

Help Me / 2.5.1 Lag
« on: March 26, 2008, 05:35:34 AM »
Hi, Have just installed 2.5.1. There seems to be a large delay when scrolling around from tab to tab. Also, pressing the Esc key causes a large delay before returning to the root screen during a tourney. Nothing else installed or changed on my system and all other progs responding as normal.

Help Me / Sharing 'hits' during split pots
« on: March 03, 2008, 06:52:43 AM »
In last night's tourney, players A and B busted out player C in a given hand. Players A and B had the same hand and the pot was split. When I tried to assign the 'hit' to these players it would only let me choose one of them.

Is there another way of doing this or is this something that needs to be modified in order to allow multiple players to share hits when the above occurs?

Thanks in advance

Help Me / Re: Best 8 out of ten revisited
« on: March 03, 2008, 06:49:20 AM »
Hi Corey, thanks for the reply.

The reason for this is that whilst they want to include double points in the last week of the series, some players can only play Fridays and others can only play Sundays. The idea is to be able to allow double points but only allow them to choose one of these from this weekend.

Maybe another alternative is to have a leageue or season called "double points week". Would it be possible to then have the two double points comps in here and then add the "best one from two" of these to the current series.

If not, how would I ignore these last two comps and then add the final values manually via the softare.

Thanks for you help.

Help Me / Best 8 out of ten revisited
« on: March 01, 2008, 06:32:24 PM »
I haev my formula working to show a running total of the best 8 out o ften tourneys. However, there is a slight alteration needed. It's been decided that the last two tourney' sof the season will be for double points but players can only count one of these tourneys towards their tally.

How can I oncorporate this please.

Thaks in advance.

Help Me / Re: Player ID in stats view
« on: January 21, 2008, 06:34:43 PM »
Hi Corey, thanks for the update.

I personally would find this useful as I often use the csv output to Excel and then make other adjustments and then order by player ID for other reasons. Not sure if this has been a popular request.

Thanks Phaze.

I actually reposted when I couldn't find the original. I've obviously posted it in the wrong place when I'd been doing some reading here.
