Can someone explain to me how to make this work on my system?  And please, imagine you are instructing a 4 year old....OK, a 10 year old.

I am serious, because, as a loyal member of Chiptalk.net, I would love to have Ten's layout as a shining example of how cool that community is.

That, and I can't design one that looks better.

Thanks.

Oh--if need be, feel free to PM it to me so as to not clutter the thread.

I successfully installed and used Ten's layout.  First, I unzipped the file in the main TD directory.  Then I opened TD and tried to load it on the Layout tab.  It didn't work.  I deleted all the CT layout files (except for the zip file) and repeated the same steps.  It worked.  Go figure.

Good luck!

In the first post in this topic is attached the ZIP file containing the ChipTalk layout.  You'll need a tool such as WinZip to unzip the file, or you can use the built-in ZIP support in Windows XP (and probably Vista).

Method A - you DO NOT have WinZip installed:
1 - Download the file, save it to your Desktop
2 - Right-click on the file and select "Explore".  This will open a Windows Explorer window with the ZIP file selected
3 - Select File -> Extract All
4 - Click the "Next" button
5 - Click the "Browse" button
6 - Browse to the Tournament Director folder.  By default, this is "C:\Program Files\The Tournament Director 2"
7 - Click the "Next" button
8 - Click the "Finish" button

Method B - you DO have WinZip installed:
1 - Download the file, save it to your Desktop
2 - Double-click on the file.  This should open the file using WinZip
3 - Press the "Extract" button
4 - Browse to the Tournament Director folder.  By default, this is "C:\Program Files\The Tournament Director 2"
5 - Click the "Extract" button
6 - Close Winzip

In the Tournament Director, on the Layout tab, press the "Load Layout" button.  Select the "ChipTalk" layout.

Well, where did you install the Tournament Director?  That's why it says "by default", because when you install the TD, it will, by default, install to "C:\Program Files\The Tournament Director 2".  If you changed the location, you'll need to modify my instructions appropriately.

Great layout!!!!! BUT I have had no luck instaling it.  Every time I go to load template, all I get is "their was a problem loading the template".  All files have been unzipped and I cant figure out the problem.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What version of the software are you using?  The template was created with version 2.4.3, so it it possible it uses features that were not available in older versions of the software.  You may need to upgrade.

Hey Corey,

I have the last version of TD. I did at one time update to 2.4.3 but had tons of problems setting sound events, so I opted to go back to the older version which is much easier to navigate....for me that is. Thanks

Hey how is this template working out for folks?  Have there been successful installs?  Do the instructions need any tweaking?

I installed the template and restarted TD.  This was the second time I ran it on the same day I downloaded it and it said my 30 days had expired.
???
