Help Me / Re: Help on Tourneys i am going MAD!!!
« on: September 04, 2008, 08:27:13 PM »
I am making some test tourneys, when it is on simple mode and you press buy in player it opens a window where you input the amount of players that are going to buy in, below it is what the cost of the buy in is and below is the amount to collect from those Buy in's.

Corey, maybe in the next version you could put a box for the buy in cost and that way it can be manipulated.
So when some one buys in you have the option to get 20 players with the normal buy in. Then buy in another time and have 2 players with $0 buy in.

And the same with Re-Buys & Add-On's

What do you think?

Well of course it is just a suggestion.  ;D ;D ;D

Thanks.

P.S. Please do it

 ???

I'm sorry but i have one more question.

Me as organizer don't pay buy in, rebuy or add on, and usually if a friend brings 10 players he gets his buy in for free, i could do that in the tracking player mode but...

Is there a way to do that on the simple mode?

Thanks Again!!

I don't make a profit from the organization (not that i shouldn't) but it can be easier cus some friends offer help ej. some offer to go and buy dirnks this way i can input the amount of the recipt in the computer and so on. I know that i can do that with a spreadsheet... actually i am but this way it can be seen in the summary tab.

I don't want any thing fancy just some basic stuff i think it will help every body from 1 to multi table tourneys.

Thanks anyway.

Help Me / Help on Tourneys i am going MAD!!!

Hi i need some help.

Whenever i run my tourneys specially large ones (40-50 players) it can get very complicated to run on the computer... you know bust out, re-buy and add-on and then bust out again. Specially if you don't have help.

So i was thinking that i can put numbers instead of players names so when ever i want to bust out it will be easier just to bust out any number instead of having to look for the name. What do you think?

Maybe something like this:

1.Give every player a piece of paper with the table and seat number.
2.Then input the number of players in the tourney (of course Corey would have to do this)
3.Just have 1 people to collect all money and give chips for re-buy's
4.Input the number of re-buy's and add-on's in the program. (Corey's work) This way you only do it one time
5.Finally to balance tables you just have to move the player that just have had the button from the table with most players and move him to the table with less players in the place where the button have just passed.

This way it would be a lot easier for me, because usually i am the director and i want to play. Otherwise it gets very intense. You know every body talking at the same time and players busting out from here and there.

What do you think?

Help Please

Hi Corey, How about including a Cost tab so you can manage everything that has to do with it.

Like:
Food
Drinks
Dealers
Table Rental fee
Chair Rental fee
ETC

And it can interact with the summary and other tabs

Everybody please express your opinions

Thanks

Thanks tandemrx,

I think i didn't make my self clear.

All of my suggestions are pre-tournament. In the prizes tab you already have a button that says estimate prize so you can have an idea of the prize even before the tournament starts.

That is exactly what i think is missing in the chips tab so you can get an estimate of the amount of chips with diferent amount of players. (I want to have an idea of how many chips are going to be in the last phase of the tournament and adjust the blinds accordingly). As you know the 10,000 final blind will not work if you have 435,000 chips! so if you get 30 or 1000 players you can adjust by adding, modifying or removing levels.

Again the in the summary tab i will like to be able to estimate the rakes "pretourney" so i can have a ballpark idea of what to count in for the expenses.

For the length of the tournament i am not trying to predict when it will finish, What i want is to input the hour of start and according to your rounds schedule get the time of finish. In the rounds tab you already have this info: Levels, Rounds, Breaks, Length, Play(time), On Break. What i am suggesting is to add an input box so you can write the probable start time and with the length of play and breaks get the time of finish. You can do that now (example if you think your tourney is going to start at 8:00 you can add what you already have in length and on break lets say it is 6:20 mins if you add the finish time will be 2:20) This is only for informative purposes.

Thanks for your answer about the players info and thanks again for the tip about canceling recipts.

And i will spend some time in the preferences tab as you suggest.

Thanks

Hi Corey,

I have some suggestions and one problem.

In the chips tab can you put a button so you can estimate the amount of chips that are going to be at the last part of the tourney based on amount of buy-ins, re-buys, and add-ons just like the one on the prize tab?

Also in the summary tab it would be nice to know the rake of buy-ins, re-buys, and add-ons pressing a button that calculate every thing there. Just like the one i mention above.

In the rounds tab instead of.. or additional to.. the length of the tournament in hours, can you put a place to write the time that the tournament is going to start, so it can give you the time of finish? based on the levels lets say you have ten 30 min levels and and start at 8:00pm the time of finish according to the levels is 1:00am

I run the tournaments and play, but i don't pay buy-in and the program just don't treat me like a regular player. Can you put an option in the players tab that allows me and other players i select to play with out paying (buy-ins, re-buys, and add-ons) and treat them like any other player. I do this for anyone brings 10 new players gets his buy in for free. This button or option should be like secret or password protected so it can't be used by other than the tournament director.

I also will like to see the first and last name of the player when you press add player button in the players tab. Some times you have many players name or called the same

When ever i buy-in one, or more players i get a print window?? why is that for? it is really annoying.

Thanks

Help Me / Usually Get 30+ players i want to play for free
« on: April 24, 2008, 05:53:49 PM »
Hi I run a Monthly Texas Hold'em Tourney and all you people that are organizers knows how hard it can be. Almost all players suggest that i should play for free. And from now on i am.

So how do you recommend me to do it?

I don't want misunderstandings if someone new wins and the prize is not what the program says.

Thanks

Suggestions / Re: Show file name of Templates
« on: June 27, 2007, 11:37:51 AM »
Corey and PPPanimal thank you both, every time i host i do what you say. Save everything and for the next just save as... but the tourneys are always different as i always expect 20 pepople give or take 1 or 2 and then 32 people show so i have to load different templates for prizes, tables, and the next tourney you have to change templates again.

That is the thing. if you change something and works better were do you save it? then there can be 20 templates with just small differences beetween them, and only use 3 or 4.

Instead if you know wich template you are modifing you save it and thats it.

I see your point when you say it is not a link but you can just as an informative thing wich template is just in case.

Thanks

;D Hi, everyone. Does it happent to you?  ??? Every time i am modifying my templates of Rounds or others i forgot what is the name of the template that is beeing used.  :'(

Every tournament is different and i if just want to change form 3 to 5 minutes the time of a brake. I just dont know what was the file i was using and i have lots of flies now that are very similar or just have that small diference i was talking about.

My suggestion is, Can you Put in the left column (or on top or where ever you like) of the Rounds, Prizes, Tables, Layout, Sounds, Chips Tabs. The name of the file that is displayed on that especific moment of the tournamet.

Thanks

  ;D

Suggestions / Points Awarded
« on: October 10, 2006, 08:28:07 PM »
Hello Corey,

I run a poker tourney every 3 or 4 weeks, but the players are not always the same and have become a very large list.

I made a legue and want to award point to everybody, not just the ones on the cash prizes (the ones who actually cash are a very small group with some exceptions), so i made 1 template for cash, and one more with cash and points for those outside the cash prizes. It tends to get quite big, so when the tourney is beeing played i put the layout of cash only. And when its over i change the layout, because this layout is very big and will not look good on the torunamet display. But before that i used to do it by hand in a excell worksheet where i have the points list. So what would be the ponit of having all those great legue things the program have.

So my question or sugestion is: Can i award points to everybody with out changing the list or is it possible to have a separated list with point only??? Have anyone come up with something like this? And can you include it in your to do list.

Thanks
