Help Me / Re: Inserting images of players in an automated fashion
« on: February 23, 2012, 09:52:54 AM »
Would be great to have the additional field in the players profile for a picture.
First Name
Last Name
Nickname
Address
email
Photo
etc

Not only could you use the photo for displaying on screens like Final Table screens, heads up screens, bounty screens and bust out screens, guest appearance screens and so on and so on. (lots more come to mind)
But the player profile page could be accessed when players are buying in and the photo used for ID confirmation.
A web cam could be used to take peoples pictures when they are registering for the first time. (You could even use the camera on your I-Phone or I-Pad and automatically add the picture to the players profile when the I-Phone / I-Pad app is released....LOL). Sorry Corey, new can of worms...
I know people like Stuart Murray who regularly run large tournaments using Tournament Director would find this very useful.

I don't like to put pressure on for mods to the program (a great job is being done without me sticking my nose in) but the lack of Photo Options, for me, is one modification that I would prioritise very highly.
I wait with bated breath.

Suggestions / Display Current Template
« on: December 08, 2011, 09:43:23 AM »
Hi....
A suggestion for you..
When saving templates (layout / events / prizes etc) it would be nice to have a "Save" button that just saves the current template and another button "Save As" so that you can save as a new template.
It does get a little confusing when you click "Save" and you are asked what you want to save it as. You can either name it and have a new one, which means that after a while you have loads of them and can't remember which is which, or you can overwrite the original. The problem with overwriting the original is that you can't always remember which template you have open.
An quick answer to the problem would be to have the open template name displayed on the screen.
This means that you can choose to save as another template if you wish or you can overwrite the original (update it in effect) confident that you are overwriting the correct one.

What do you think?

Beta Testing / Re: Version 3.0 is now available
« on: November 10, 2011, 12:16:49 PM »
Hi
I just downloaded and installed version 3.
I am currently using version 2.6.b4
Installation went ok.

When I ran the program I got the error message on start up that there was an error reading my preferences file and the program loaded with the standard defaults.
This meant that if I wanted to continue using the program I would have to go through all my tournament set ups and re configure them.

I closed the program and opened version 2.6.b4 and I got the same error.

I have now un-installed version 3 and restored my database in version 2.6.b4
All is now working as it should.

Am I doing something wrong?

Regards
Clive

Sounds like you're running into an issue that is apparently affecting only certain people.  Since you have a backup, could you send the backup file to me so that I can take a look at your preferences and see what the issue is?  support@thetournamentdirector.net

Hi Corey
I have re-installed version 3 and the error did not repeat itself until I ran version 2.6.b4
2.6.b4 gave the error and when I closed the program and ran version 3, I got the error again.
I resolved this by restoring the database in version 3 and everything is as it should be.

I have just run the program again to fine tune a saved tournament for tonight and when I loaded the tournament I was asked if I wanted to load the embedded layout as well.
I selected 'yes' and an error report was generated.
The email option button did not work but the copy to clipboard button did so I copied it in to an email and sent to support.
Below is a copy of the report:-

I can send you a copy of the backup file if you need it but it is 16MB....

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: HQ Card Room Announcements
« on: April 02, 2011, 08:04:36 AM »
Hi Stuart.
Excellent job of 'obtaining' the crm sound files.
Thanks also for supplying the templates. They have enabled me to correct the way I associate my sounds with the levels. Mine were more long winded.
I do have a request though.
Do you have any of the sound files for the levels above 10000 - 20000.
Our club regularly reaches 20000 - 40000 and some times 30000 - 60000.
Levels higher than 30000 - 60000 would also come in very usefull later this year when I am hosting a 2 day team challenge event.
No problem if you don't have them. Worth asking though.....
Many Thanks

Help Me / Re: Am I Going Mad
« on: March 05, 2011, 11:09:18 AM »
All I want to do is export the results of a single tournament to a csv file.
There is no option in the game tab to export as csv.
I don't want to export individual players stats, just the results of a single tournament.
I can't see the option anywhere.....
Cheers

DOOOOOhhhhhhhh......
Sorted.
Couldn't find it for looking...

Help Me / Am I Going Mad
« on: March 05, 2011, 06:55:55 AM »
HEEEEEELLLLPPPPPP.....
I want to export the results of each individual tournament as a csv file so that I can reference the data for the clubs web site.
I know I can do it from the stats tab by filtering just one tournament but the column options are not appropriate for a single game, they are summary columns.
The export options in the game tab only provide options for exporting to sites such as Stats Genie or as html.
I don't like the html option because the style is pre formatted and by the time I have re-formatted it for my site I may as well have done it all from scratch.

So! The question is:-
How can I export the results of individual tournaments as a csv file that includes the same column options that are available in the game export page.
I.E. Rank, Name, Round Out, Time Out, Hitman,Total Winnings, Points etc.
Many Thanks
Clive

Help Me / Help With Prizes PLEASE
« on: May 15, 2010, 08:28:17 AM »
I am setting up TD for a charity tournament and have 5 x $25 on-line tournament tokens to be awarded to the top 5 finishers in addition to the prize fund.
How can I display these on the screen along with the prize money payouts.
I.E. 1st Place: £xx.xx plus $25 Token, 2nd Place: £xx.xx plus $25 Token etc

I will also be running tournaments later in the year where the winner will be awarded a seat in to a bigger live tournament.
The payout could be either:-
1. All the money collected is paid out and additional seats awarded to the top 2 or three
2. X amount of the money collected is awarded as seats for the top 2 or 3 and the remainder is paid as cash prizes to 4th ,5th, etc.

Any help with this will be much appreciated.

Regards
Clive

Help Me / Re: Event help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: April 15, 2010, 09:14:48 AM »
hi this is what you are looking for:

Event Name: Countdown event
Trigger: The Clock Ticks
Conditions: (state = 1) and (secondsLeft = 240)

state = 1 means the game is pre-tournament
secondsleft you are obviously already using.

Regards
Stuart

Cheers Matey
Will give it a try

Help Me / Event help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
« on: April 06, 2010, 08:40:59 AM »
What I am tying to do is:-
I set the countdown to 5mins and start.
This triggers an announcement I have recorded stating that the tournament is about to start in 5 mins etc and lasts for 15 seconds.
17 seconds in triggers a poker themed song to start playing (e.g. Poker Face, Lady GaGa) whilst players are taking their seats.
At 15 seconds before the countdown ends a recording I have made kicks in to ask players to shuffle up and deal after the siren.
At 5 seconds before the end of the countdown the 5 second siren sounds.

The problem I am having is that if I use the trigger (ClockTicks), the recordings start to play each time the clock ticks and I just end up with a load of noise.
So, after 20 seconds I have 10 instances of my start announcement and 5 instances of Lady Gaga playing with a fresh Lady Gaga starting every second.

I have managed to sort all my other announcements out ok e.g.
Blinds up in 2 mins
Blinds are now XX
Players are now on break
Last round for re-buys
etc

But the countdown has got me confused.

Any suggestions?

Many Thanks

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: Looking for sound files

This events template MAY help.
You just need to change the file locations.

Of course it will have to tie in with the rounds so there is a rounds template as well.

Have a play and enjoy
