Corey, could you explain more in detail about entering names with a scanner on a bar code.

Not really, as I have never done it.  Sorry.

My limited experience with scanners shows that they (some, many, all?) operate like this: you scan a barcode, the scanner reads the information and simulates a person typing the numbers on the keyboard.  This makes it compatible with just about any program without any type of integration software.  So anywhere you would enter a serial number, or other identifier, you simply place the cursor in the correct position to start entering numbers, then scan the barcode.  The scanner enters the numbers just as if you had typed them.

In the TD, you could enter a barcode number in the ID field for players.  By turning on the Find feature, when you open dialogs like Buy-In, Rebuy, Bust-out, etc, there is a Find field displayed with the cursor automatically placed in it.  So, if for example your players had cards with barcodes on them, when they want to buy-in, they hand you the card, you press the buy-in button, scan the card, and hopefully the player is found in your database, and you buy them in...
