Help Me / Formula for playing music during pre-tourney clock
« on: October 17, 2012, 07:19:09 AM »
Been using TD since 2.3 but this is the first time I'm USING TD to it's full capability.  I want TD to play music during a countdown to the start of tourney.  I can't figure out a formula to pull this off?  Does anyone have an idea?  Want to play about 10-15 songs.  Thanks for help in advance.

Suggestions / Re: Reentry Tournaments
« on: November 15, 2011, 06:18:04 AM »
The whole reason I asked was I just ran a private rebuy game and the players did not get it (most of them played poker, not NLHE).  I can create a cell to say reentries on the layout and rake the rebuy.  Works for me.  Thanks everyone.

Suggestions / Reentry Tournaments

Since re-buy games seem to going out of style and reentry games seem to be rising, any chance of making a spot on the games tab for reentry?  Maybe even choosing reentry or re-buy option?  What do you think?  I have not downloaded v3 yet so if it is there, please disregard this message.  Thanks

Matt C.

Help Me / Bust out screen with both first and last names
« on: October 09, 2011, 09:08:18 PM »
How do you put first and last names into the bustout screen?  I will be running a tournament soon where at least 11 Smiths will play and will need to distinguish the correct person going busto.

Help Me / Having the chip images post horizontal vs. vertical
« on: August 23, 2011, 04:44:08 PM »
It has been a long time since I have been here.  I've been using basic setups, now I would like to put TD through it's true paces.  For example:  I would like to have the chip graphics across the bottom of the screen instead of on the side.  But when I go to put the cell at the bottom, the chips go right off of the bottom.  Also, how can you make the word "Blinds" appear beside the blind amounts instead of over top of them.  Any help with this would be great.

Why not just go to the source for a PLO structure. Here's the WSOP's $10k Pot Limit Omaha championship structure. Notice no antes and the 2 add-ons.

This is a great idea.  this is what I did when I wrote all of my structures, then modified each structure to fit my game.  All of my structures run about 4-5 hours.  Hold Em, Omaha, Stud, Draw and several mixed games as well.

I would suggest getting a copy of the Tournament Directors Association rules here: pokertda.com    Your set is good.  Some things in the TDA rules you didn't cover are covered here or reemphasized as well.  I encourage all to check it out and you can get a copy of the rules for free as well.  You can also become a certified TD, too.

Our Toc is based on the monthly tournament winners.  I state that there will be a minimum of 10 players INVITED.  The players are made up of each months winner plus last years TOC winner.  So there could be a max of 13 players. If there are less than 10 players (multiple tournament winners), then the high point people will be used until it rounds out to 10.  If somebody can't make it, oh well.  We don't move on to the next person

I Agree.  My Main Event is the top 36 in points.  If someone can't make it, the chair stays empty.  No second chances to get in either.

General Discussion / Re: PENALTY FOR RE BUYS

I can see why you would want to penalize rebuys and add ons but I don't always think that you should... if you advertise an unlimited in first hour rebuy tournament than you shouldn't discourage rebuys... let the rebuys come.... Rebuy tournaments are very wild and unpredictable, and utilizes strategies otherwise not employed in regular games... Also it fattens up the pot, and how can that be a bad thing???

I totally agree.....if you rebuy, that is the penalty.  In your format, you can't rebuy your way to a win, considering you give 1/2 the starting stack for the rebuy.  My opinion:  leave well enough alone.  I like the format the way it is and you get a nice prize fund nightly.
