Help Me / Re: Being late ( blinded or not )
« on: January 25, 2010, 06:30:55 AM »
as a qualified TD

Like your style.

Anyway, our rule is:

Free Entry Games - Players have until the end of the 2nd blind level to enter the tournament.

Cash Entry Games - Players are required to be Bought in (Paid For by someone) by the end of the 2nd blind level.

There are usually a couple of extra chip stacks at empty seats in play to allow for late arrivals until the end of the 1st blind level.

Players arriving during the 2nd blind level (after spare stacks are removed) will be chipped down 500 in tournament chips.

That's how we handle it. So players can turn up late, but are penalised. Cash games they can be later than free, as they are paid for, and no refunds given.

Help Me / Re: Concerns with using TD on plasmas?

I thought LCD was built in a way that they couldn't burn.

If your screen did, then I guess I am incorrect.

I was sure to buy LCD for the kids gaming though.

wildbil

I run the TD on LCD screens and have burned my company logo into the screen

LCD should never have burn issues. Plasma on the other hand will have.

I have been running a clock on a plasma 4 nights a week for 2 years and with each level rotating colours, have not had a problem.

Help Me / Re: Tournament Scoring

You can acheive this by having seperate template files I load before each tournament.

Each one can have a different scoring formula.

yousendit.com gives you a link to the file you've essentially stored.

Or rapidshare etc.

You could paste the link here, considering you're unable to upload.

Trying to help thats all.

Roberts Rules: http://www.homepokertourney.com/roberts-rules-of-poker.htm

Quote
Betting and Raising.

6. Any wager not all-in must be at least the size of the previous bet or raise in that round

Considering the Big Blind is a forced bet by 2 left of the dealer, the minimum raise, if you are 1st to raise is the size of the Big Blind. From that point on, the minimum raise is the size of the previous raise.

So for example...

Player A - BB  1000

Player B - Raises to 2000

Player C - Can raise to 3000 as his raise is still at least the size of the previous "raise".

Ohh I love poker rules. :)

I took this from the TDA rules and use it for our rule book in my league.

No short bets - To raise you must state “RAISE”. Your RAISE must be at least equal to the previous RAISE.
The first raise (pre-flop) must be double the big blind. All raises after must be at least equal to the
previous raise. On all betting rounds, first to bet must bet equal to or greater than the big blind,
first raise must be double or greater than the first bet, unless player is all in.

Will try and fine reference.

I must say it looks quite primitive.

Not really making good use of the space there.

(switch(r, 1, 20, 2, 18, 3, 16, 4, 14, 5, 12, 6, 10) + if(r > 6, 2))

To have it change by the number of players, how exactly do you mean. There are some clever minds around here.
