Help Me / Script Error with iFRAME
« on: April 02, 2015, 05:26:10 PM »
Original story here: http://www.thetournamentdirector.net/forums/index.php?topic=4934.0

Long story short: Google has now changed all of their Sheets to the new format, and the embed code has changed.  I got around it previously, by using the old format of Sheets.  Sadly, I opened up Sheets today and was notified "Congratulations! Your sheet has been upgraded to the new format!".  Yeah, thanks a ton Google!

So I'm getting the following error message for every iFRAME I have in a cell on my layout.... every time it brings up that screen.  I use that layout in a screen set that rotates it in during the tournament, and the error comes up every time the screen comes up in the rotation.  It covers the screen and I have to manually click OK for each dialog/iFrame.

Any chance this has been worked on yet?  Right now I've lost the iFame functionality, since I can't have errors popping up on the clock all throughout the event.

Fingers Crossed.....

Help Me / iFRAME causes script error?
« on: September 24, 2014, 06:20:31 AM »
So, I'm running this simple iFRAME code in an empty cell:

Code: [Select]
<p><b><u>Points Leaderboard - Top 25 Players</u></b></p>
<iframe src="https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/17C1-_77cAJGq1izXzeq2wsq13pvugq9Q8Tj5XZLkTjs/pubhtml/sheet?headers=false&gid=1367889776&range=A1:D26" width="450" height="702"></iframe>

After hitting Apply on the Cell Properties dialog, it throws up this error dialog in the attachment.

The info still comes in from Google, all formatted correctly.  But the error makes me nervous.....

EDIT:
I will also point out that Google has changed their Spreadsheets starting earlier this year, and now all new sheets use this new format.  The new format also comes with with changes to the iframe code that was previously used (like the GID number for example).  So the above link go the sheet may look strange to some who are familiar to the old style.  Again, the data is being brought in fine, I wouldn't have known there was a problem unless I got the error dialog.

Help Me / Stats token options
« on: September 16, 2014, 05:22:53 AM »
This is my first time using the stats/db feature of TD.

So I'm currently using the <stats> token in a cell to show the data on screen in a screen set.  I know there is another method, exporting html and referencing it in a layout, but I'm trying to keep as few moving parts as possible, for simplicity sake.

So I'm curious if I have any control over how the stats token displays things when used in a layout?

  • Is it possible to change the column widths?  I see I can adjust the spacing with a variable, but that adjusts all columns the same (leaving my rank column insanely wide for only 1-2 digits of data).
  • Are they any controls for font/sizing/color for the player info?  I see variables for the header/footer....
  • Can the number of decimals displayed be changed by column?  IE: can the points column be rounded to a whole number, while the Average would stay at two digits past the decimal?
If there is a better way to achieve this, I'd love to hear it!

Help Me / Longtime user, First time formula writer
« on: September 08, 2014, 05:08:28 AM »
OK, I am hitting a wall with my points for playing formula, so I submit to you folks, for any kid of help...

buyins + rebuys – rank

I'm looking to calculate 1 point for every player you outlast in a tournament.  I've added a single optional rebuy to my structure and would like to incorporate that into the formula, but only for rebuys that happen before a given player busts himself.  I don't know how to formulate WHEN a rebuy occurs, so I may calculate how many buyins a player outlasted, rather than how many players a player outlasted.

For example:  Jimmy plays in a tournament that has 20 players and allows a single optional rebuy.  Jimmy busts out in 18th place, but 3 other players have rebought before he busts out.  In addition, 5 other players have rebought AFTER he's already out of the tournament.  In this case, Jimmy's points should be 5 (2 for ranking 18th out of 20, plus 3 for the rebuys he outlasted), not 7 (buyins + rebuys - rank).

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Help Me / Hand Timer with Extended Display
« on: October 04, 2012, 12:03:50 AM »
Hi All,

Simple question that I've poured over the forums and preferences for the answer... to no avail.

Is it possible to make the hand timer come up on the Extended Display?  I have the game window on the ED, and would like the hand timer to be there as well.

I've tried un-checking the 'dialogs open on main display box', but that doesn't seem to do it.

I'm running two SNGs at the same time, and once players reach heads up, blinds go to 10 minutes.  So while one of the games is playing on the normal game clock, when the second game goes heads up I'd like to just use the hand timer for the 10 minute blinds on that table.

Of course if anyone has a better way to do this, I'd be open to suggestions...  ;)

Much thanks,

Trevor

Help Me / 1.3 Style Tables?
« on: August 08, 2009, 02:41:09 AM »
Hi All,

Upgrading (finally) to current version and I was wondering if there is a way to display the <currenttables> info in the style that the old software did?

Specifically, it had a vertical rectangle representing each of the tables in play, with the number of players inside each rectangle, but without the "X1" or "X2".  I'm looking to have each table represented by its own rectangle, even if it displays 6 rectangles with "8" inside it (Rather than 1 rectangle with "8" inside and "X6" to the right of it).

TIA,
Trevor

Help Me / Mac Compatible with BootCamp?
« on: November 22, 2008, 02:42:20 PM »
Wondering if anyone has successfully gotten TD to run on an Intel MacBook using BootCamp?  Theoretically it "should" work, since you are running Windows natively, but are there any known issues to be aware of?

I'm a Mac guy that has an old ThinkPad thats used only for TD, that I'd like to upgrade to v.2.  ThinkPad is too slow, so I'm looking at my upgrade options.  Ok, I'm really looking for an excuse to get a new MacBook!

Thanks!

Help Me / Easily Navigate Many Players?
« on: May 17, 2006, 09:56:07 PM »
I am a long-time 1.x user who is currently wrestling with the learning curve of going to 2.x.  I've gotten most of my functionality re-learned in the 2.x way, but have hit a big problem....

When I'm choosing players for a tournament in the 'Add Players' dialog, it takes forever to navigate through my database to find each one.

I should point out that my Database has just under 1000 players, and each tournament has about 60-90 players.  Since I have to do this at the beginning of each event (4 nights a week), I need to decrease the amount of time it takes to find each player in the 'Add Players' dialog.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

BTW, I just assumed I could type a letter and would be taken to the first name that begins with that letter, but that is not happening on my set up (that would be a dream come true if it did work).  Please advise if that functionality is there and I'm just not seeing it.
