This is a suggestion which i think will make the sounds events a little bit easier.

Could  the settings be changed on the "omit" events section of the events tab  At the moment You have to select the event one by one too omit an event.

I would like to see

1) The events be, by default -  Be made active inactive

2) A button or link, so that you can either select all events or select several events. For example, the inbox on googlemail, when you can select all / several  messages.
The idea is that you can select more than one event and either make them active or inactive

4) But also when you make an event  and click OK the  you have to tick on the action to make it active. I would like to see, that when you create an event, it becomes active once you click ok

5) Have the events highlighted,so that you can see at a glance wether the events are active or inactive.

Try as I may, I cant get my head around setting up sound events.

I have tried to get the blind announcements set up, but when i add breaks they just go tits up. I end up with sounds playing at the wrong times, sounds playing together, Sounds not kicking in at the right times. etc.

 I learn better by example. So if someone could please  load a sound template for the blinds and breaks announcements  I would be very grateful.

I would then be able to see how you have done it. and i might then be able to start and grasp the basics

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / moving a layout on to an older computer

I down loaded the beta version on to my new laptop (display 1024 680). My old laptop contains the 2.5 Version (display 1280 640), And this is the one i now use for tournaments.

I Have made a couple of layouts  and would like to know if

*Will they work on the old laptop. They are still basic layouts, with nothing fancy in them. Not that TD savvy yet.
* how do i export them for use on the old laptop. I know that I can go to the layout tabs and do it from there, but how do i include the sounds and pictures.
* when i do export them , where do i place the files, the TD data store in "My Programs or the TD folders in the "My Documents" folder.
* Will i Have to resize the pictures. The ones i am using are 1280--800.

Help Me / Bounty / hits amount not shown on rankings screen

I was running a mock tournament and i had this formulae on the player rankings page. When a player gets knocked out it was meant to display on the screen, to the right of the hitmans name, the amount of money won by the hit man.  However  when viewing the page about 30/100 of the bounty amounts were not shown.

But when the tournament  was finished and i checked the stats. All the bounties were awarded correctly.

Could some one please check this formulae for me and see where i went wrong

Help Me / Printing off 25mm Labels to customize poker chips

I have bought some 25mm labels - 70 per page to customize my poker chips. When i bought them  and downloaded a microsoft word template. I have printed a page off. But I had to copy and paste the chip image one by one onto the word template.

Does any one know a better way to do this as i have over 2000 chips to do.
I am using a Lexmark printer

 I wanted to put a cell into a lay out.The cell i wanted to put in was the "STARTING CHIPS".

In the box that appeared. the  one i wanted was not there. So i selected the "Chips" Cell. Clicked ok and this inserted that cell into the layout.

Then I opened the cell up . I renamed the cell and the description. Deleted the "Chips" token from the  cell and replaced it with the "starting Chips" Token . Saved it and came out of it. The cell was workin great. But when i looked down at the "Chips" cell, this  had taken on the attributes of the cell i had entered.

I tried to alter the "Chips" cell back to its original attributes, so I altered it, and found that the new cell (Starting Chips) I had made had taken on the "chips" cell attributes .

Obviously doing something wrong but cant understand why?

When you insert a cell into the layout. the option of what token to put in are not the same as when you enter a token from the cells properties box. So how can i insert a cell and give it  a token which is not in the insert cell dialogue box?

I have found that there is everything that you need, are in the templates supplied with the TD program.  The thing that gets a hold of people is the urge to improve the look of the screens and make things that little bit easier, even if its just by a fraction.
I used to wonder why anyone would do this. and then i got the bug. been checking out some of the old posts, downloading layouts and seeing how they were done, tried different scoring formulas,  adding screens etc (aint got those right yet, but in time!).

Many thanks for a great program. look forward to some good finds, from like minded people, from this forum.

The new beta version, is great; easier to learn how to do things on this version

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Lay outs

 Just spent  the last 2 weeks (while off work for the Xmas holidays) customising layouts. Never done any thing like this before and went to it it with a little trepidation. But thank God  for the reset button! :) and that TD is such an easy program to work with.
Have loads of things to learn yet. with items such as Banners, screen sets and global sets and much much more. But i have learnt a lot by down loading other layouts and seeing how they were made, gave me some good insight.
I have attached a copy of my layout. Colourful i know, but i think it grabs people attention.The font may seem to be on top of each other but it is projected onto a 10ft screen and looks really good, easily readable. Borrowed some images and gifs  that have been posted on the forum I hope no one minds.

A couple of things i would like to ask advice on
  • I would like to put an image on the tables on the seating chart page is this possible. Would i be able to use paint to do this and if it worked, what would i have to save it as ie file type etc.  
  • Secondly on the same image i want to reduce the size of font on the name of the table (Table 1) I would like to name the tables after league members/winners , but cant see how to do it , i tried to alter the font in the token, but to no avail
  • Thirdly, When you have a few prizes in a game to display that takes up a lot of room on the screen, is it possible to fit a scrolling banner ( going in from right to left) etc.

I have tried to put a countdown clock on a pre tournament screen.
I have put a countdown cell on the screen with these attributes
Time till the Start of the Tournament <br> <currenttime format="12-hour">

when  I go to the screen it shows the same time as the cell which shows "the current time screen.
How can i make the countdown work, from  say 1 hour before the comp begins.

would be a great help if some one could up load a pre-tournament screen so i could see exactly what is what.
This the first time i have tried to create a screen. A bit of trial and error at the moment. seeing what fits where, sizing fonts etc
have done a main tournament screen which was quite easy as all the basics can be changed from the sample screens etc.
Slowly getting there

Help Me / Altering the Names Coloumns

In the TD beta, on the players Tab . When i go to add a player to the tournament it comes up with only the first name.
This can be confusing when you have a lot of players with the same name

 How can I get it to show both first name and last name. Tried to edit the columns names to no avail

In a previous post on October 13, 2010, 04:11:29 PM, i asked for help concerning a points system hat i wanted to implement

You were kind enough to offer the formulae
(n - r + 10) + (max(0, 4 - floor((r - 1) / 10)) * 10) + if(r < 9, max(0, 100 - (r * 10)) + if(r = 1, 10))

I have used this formulae twice before and it has worked great. And give s exactly what i asked for.
However now there is a slight problem.

In this example using TD 2.5.11 below there are 64 entrants
1st place gets 213 points
2nd, 63, 192.00
3rd, 62, 181.00
4th, 61, 170.00
5th, 60, 159.00
6th, 59, 148.00
7th, 58, 137.00
8th, 57, 126.00
9th, 56, 105.00
10th, 55, 104.00
61st, 4, 13.00
62nd, 3, 12.00
63rd, 2, 11.00
64th, 1, 10.00
This is what happens
Then when you get to position 31 it goes into minus figure and awards
pos 31 -9
pos 32 -10
the last 5 positions get
60th -48
61st -49
62nd -50
63rd -51
64th - 52

Any ideas as to why there is a discrepancy in the 2 different points awarded systems

Help Me / per-player rake

WE charge a  fixed donation fee per game per player if $5. thsi is on top of the game fee. Tis is to pay for equipment, and to put on a free roll for all members at the end of a season.
Uptill now guest have always been charged the same fee.
Until now i have put this amount into the per-player rake
How can i do this now as the rake will be different for members and guest?
