New to the site and looking for the perfect formula
« on: November 06, 2006, 05:37:39 AM »
Hello,
I'm trying out this software and it seems good so far. I am having some trouble with the formulas in order to calculate points for my players.
What I need it to do is:
-Usual number of players vary between 22 to a max of 27.
-The points I'd like to provide will start at a scale of 14 pts down to 1 point for the last spot (notice my scale breaks down between a point and a half point), multiplied by the amount of players plus extra points for the 4 top players that finish in the money (40 pts for the 1st place, 30 pts for 2nd, 20 for 3rd and 20 pts for 4th. See below for an example:

27 men tourney
1st  - 14 pts    x 27 + 40  = 418
2nd - 13.5 pts  x 27 + 30 = 394.5
3rd - 13 pts     x 27 + 20  = 371
4th - 12.5 pts  x 27 + 10  = 347.5
5th - 12 pts     x 27         = 324
6th - 11.5 pts  x 27         = 310.5
7th - 11 pts     x 27         = 297
.
.
.
.
25th - 2 pts      x 27         = 54
26th - 1.5 pts   x 27         = 40.5
27th - 1 pts      x 27         = 27

Please help me with a simple formula. I'm also going to deduct points for rebuys and add-on's. Extra points will be given for knockouts/hits.

Thanks!
Ace
