How to run limited user in Windows 7?
« on: May 10, 2011, 05:06:25 AM »
Greetings.

How can I open your software in Windows 7 from a limited user account?
It shows a shield in the program icon, and it always asks for an administrator password (through UAC). I do not want to give administrator rights to our user if possible.

Best regards.

You can't.  Among other things, the software requires Administrator access in order to properly install and use a necessary Active-X control.

 :(

Is not there any workaround? Maybe some way to install the ActiveX permanently?

Yes, once the Active-X control is installed, it (the Active-X control) usually does not require administrator access.  Note that I said "usually", and that I also said "among other things".  So unfortunately there is no workaround.
