Help Me / Re: 60 people on 2 tables?
« on: October 17, 2006, 10:22:32 AM »
How can you have 60 people on 2 x 10-seat tables? This only allows 20 people to sit down?

Hi Corey

A few questions / requests:

1) Is there a field available that allows the number of bounty chips purchased to be displayed on the main toruney clock screen? If not, can there be? Players often ask how many are in circulation.

2) When we do rebuys during a tourney, in reality we jot these down on paper and every 20 minutes or so we update the software with that info en masse as its not always practical to do this for real in the frenzy of rebuys as they occur. What often happens when administrating the tourney this way is that some players have re-bought more than once between the updates we make. This means that I have to get the rebuy screen up, check them off for a rebuy, close it and then immediately get that screen up again to add the next re-buy (and so on for each re-buy they have done between updates). I appreciate that the way we do it means that the stats associated with the round and time they did the re-buy etc is inaccurate, however, the players (so far) are less interested in knowing exactly when they did the re-buy - so if there was away that would allow us to indicate how many rebuys they are having (with the default being 1) at the time we do that update would be very helpful.

3) Is it possible to add some export HTML preference options, e.g particulalrly background color, font etc. The export to HTML feature is excellent, however, I publish them on our own web site, and it would be nice if I could make them (at least in some way) have the look and feel of the other site pages. Some basic defaults we could set would go a long way towards that. It's not a biggy, but for now I have to edit all the pages separately to change the background color, which is not by any means the end of the world, but is a little onerous.

Just a few there for you to chew on  :)

Keep up the great work!

Help Me / Re: Hitmen when there are Rebuys
« on: October 17, 2006, 03:53:35 AM »
Don't entirely agree. Rebuy tourney strategy is to gamble more in a bid to accumulate chips without risk of knockout, i.e. treat the rebuy period much the same as a cash game.

If the tourney was a freezeout people (who can play properly) will behave differently and not gamble anywhere near as much as they do in a rebuy (generally speaking). So yes, you have technically knocked someone out - but if the same situation arose in a freezeout that person is less likely to have called (or raised) "all in". Naturally, if you both have big cards the result may well have been an all-in scenario, but in a freezeout those scenarios occur a lot less frequently in early stages. In a rebuy there is often all-ins with Ace-rag.

I guess what I am saying is that I agree with you in a sense, however, to us in our rebuys, a player is not knocked out until they leave the tourney - either cos they chose not to rebuy in the rebuy period, or they were knocked in the freezeout bit.

We also do double chance freezeouts which is a bit between a rebuy tourney and a freezeout tourney. They get 8000 chips for their £100 buyin (or whatever), but only receive 4000 of it. If they go all in and lose they get their other 4000 chips. After 90 mins at the first break, all those that haven't asked for their last 4000 get them then. This allows for one failed all-in before going out (hence double chance). Players if they choose can have their 8000 all up front but by doing so remove their double chance option. The point is, here too if you win against another player all in - you have not knocked them out either - especially as they don't have to dig into their pockets to stay in.

So whilst you say a hit is a hit (which I agree with) a hit is not necessarily a knock out. A knockout is a knockout

Just my opinion you understand.....

 :)

Or maybe flash up a warning when the tourney starts saying that auto-save is not enabled? Altho having a preference setting that allows you to enable auto-save as the default would be better - then you get the choice  :)

Ok

Updated to 2.2.2 then re-installed IE7 Over IE6) and tested.

All worked fine! No little "graphic" thing and clocks all seemed to work fine.

Well done Corey - good job!

If the tables are uneven - then the software pick the most eligible table to collapse - which of course is fine.

I think, Corey, the issue issue they are getting at is selecting a table may be a valid thing to do when there is more than one table that is eligible to be collapsed - i.e. you have 6 seats "open" across tables 1,2, 3, and 4 and both table 5 and table 6 have 6 players each - in which case the software maybe could ask which table to choose from the eligible tables (however many), rather than choosing table 6 automatically.

Hi Corey

I know we discussed this a bit but it wasnt on the forum.

I too got this problem but only if I have IE7 installed on Win XP - If IE6 all fine. In terms of other software I have that you mentioned I have ZoneAlarm Internet security suite only which does all Anti virus / spyware / firewall stuff.

General Discussion / Re: Rebuy's
« on: September 12, 2006, 05:40:54 AM »
Ours is standard for in the UK

A £20 rebuy tourney - costs £20 to buy-in and you get 1000 chips

The rebuy period is 2 levels of 45 minutes (25 / 50 and 50 /100). During this 90 minutes a player can rebuy whenever they have less than (or equal) to half the tourney's starting stack. In our case they get 1000 to start so anytime their stack is 500 or less they can rebuy. Rebuy's cost £20 and they get another 1000 chips.

At the end of the rebuy period the tourney is paused and anyone can add-on once (regardless of chip stack size) and it costs £20 and gives them a 2000 chip add-on. Should someone though, at that point, have 500 or less they can do a rebuy and an add-on (will cost £40 and they will get 3000 chips). we then have a 10 minute break and resume the tourney at with level 3 (100 / 200) - this level onwards is 15 minutes per level.

Corey - I had a play - works great - thanks again.

By the way - it looks like it has multiple undo / redo capabailities - how many levels can it go back? The couple of nested undo's I did should be more than enough - just curious is all    :)
