Hi,
last week we played a tournament with 320 players! At the begining TD worked fine, but after 3-4 hours the TD became more and more slowly, it took about more than 1 minute to bust one player out. We have 800 players in our database! Before we had tournaments with 150 players and TD worked fine until the end.

It's all going to depend on the speed of your PC and how much memory you have. It's possible (although I personally haven't observed it) for the TD to start to consume more and more memory (and thus probably start slowing down and eventually starve) due to memory leaks in Internet Explorer. But again, I haven't seen this.
I'll try to do some testing to see if I can duplicate this. It's a painful test to perform, as you can imagine, since I've got to run it over a period of hours...

Hello,
here the configuration from our notebbook: 1 GB Memory AMD Turion 64 X2 TL 56 1,8 GHz operation system: Windows Vista
I updated the memory to 2 GB, and i will test it with a simulation!
Next week we make a test with 700 players on a top machine, Dual Core 6750, 2 GB Memory...
I will you report the result soon

When your tournaments get that large, I'd recommend running in "Simple mode", where you don't track players. That may not be an option for you, but it will most definitely decrease the amount of work the software is doing, and should run at a more constant speed.

Ran a tourney with 38, timer ran fine and all other items ran fine also. When I tried to take someone out of the tourney with the x button it took 10 to 30 seconds to respond, then more time to assign seats.
To my knowledge nothing else running, at break I rebooted the system.

10 to 30 seconds to respond, in a tournament with only 38 players? Send me the tournament file if that's the case.

How?

Trips, I tried your tournament file and it works as expected on my machines. Pressing X to bust a player out brings up the dialog pretty much instantly. How fast and how much memory on the PC you are using?

You may want to scan these pc's for spyware and viruses. I have seen machines grind and grind only to find them wrapped up with spyware. Ad-aware on download.com works great and it is free.
