Help Me / Add Players Dialog
« on: February 28, 2020, 01:37:21 PM »
Hi All,

I just updated to the new version and noticed an issue when trying to add players to a game.  It only shows the first name only and I have a lot of "Bill's" lol.
It did work in the previous version and I am sure I did something to make it display first and second names but I cannot find it.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

Thanks,
AJC

Help Me / Nicknames
« on: January 28, 2012, 10:23:53 AM »
Hi,

I really only use the First Name and Last Name fields as I have many people just named Bill or Joe.  When I bust out a player in TD3, I just get the nickname or players first name in the busted player list and the hitman list.  I was able to make that change in 2.5, but I can't seem to find it under v3.  I did change my columns but no luck.

I have a big tourney tonight so I was hoping someone may know what I am overlooking.

Thanks very much!!

I would gladly send some paypal funds your way for the effort.  Awesome work!!

I do have 2.5.12 installed on the same machine.

Not to bring this back from the dead........ but I'd thought I would explain my thoughts.

The Meal has it on the nosey.  We have had on occasion people choosing not to rebuy after busting our during the rebuy period.  I'm not sure of the logic, but for whatever reason it does happen more often then you think.  I just purchase v3 and will try to hammer out this formula.

Thanks for everyone's replies.

Help Me / Formula Help

Hi Everyone -

I plan on changing our point awards for my next season and was looking for a little help.  I run a rebuy tournament and allow rebuys through round 3.  Current points are awarded for place based on number of people in a tournament - ie. 8 man tournament, 1st place gets 8, 2nd place gets 7 and so on..... I also give 1 point per hit even during the rebuy period.  My current formula is:

n-r+1

Here are the changes I wanted to make.  Since I pay 3 places I still want to award points base on the number of players but only give them to the people who monied based on a weight.

8 man tournament example paying 3 places - my money payouts are 50%, 30% & 20%.  With 8 points available I want to give 50% of the points to 1st, 30% of the points to 2nd and 20% of the points to 3rd.

Regarding in relation to the hit points, I only want to count the hits AFTER the rebuy period is over which.  I don't want to count a hit unless the player is permanently knocked out.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

As a followup, the StatsGenie site keeps getting worse.  Now, none of my invitees can accept the invitations being sent.  It's a debacle over there.  i would gladly pay for such a service providing they don't perform major upgrades in the middle of my poker season before the Tournament of Champions! <\endrant>

It looks like pokerDIY is where I am heading

Hi everyone,

I have been using stategenie.com for the last 4 years maintaining our tournaments and it has been awesome.  I don't know if you guys use the site or not but they recently release a new version of the site which takes away a lot of administrative control and gives it back to the user.  Most of my players just log in once in a while to check their point totals and respond to invitations.  The recent update has made this process way to complicated for a bunch of my players.......

I have some experience with HomePokerTour.com as I am a member of another organization but their site doesn't allow for customized point calculations....

I'm looking for suggestions for a poker league management site with an invitation process and stats keeping.

Thanks!

Help Me / New Computer

Hi Corey -

I'm licensed for TD 2.x and I am getting a new laptop.  My current laptop which has TD currently installed is a lease and is going back.  (Company machine)
Aside from doing a backup/restore from the database tab, is there a preferred method of moving TD to a new computer?  Also, I wanted to make sure that I would still be in license compliance in doing this.

Thanks

John,

Thanks for your reply.  I was thinking along the same lines as your suggestions I was just hoping for another way.  I upload our tournament stats to statsgenie.com after every match and it would be great for everyone to see the details of the tournament when it's done.

Help Me / Heads Up Assistance
« on: May 29, 2009, 02:02:30 PM »
Hi all.. I did some searching in this forum and really did not find a clear answer so i was hoping someone could help me.

I am running a 12 man heads-up tournament next weekend and wanted to do a round robin structure for the 1st level.  The best of 3 matches playing different people but each player would play 3 matches regardless of how many you won so you could be a spoiler for someone else.  After the 1st level is completed, then the rest of the matches would be single elimination.

I found a simple bracket format to use but I was hoping to run this all through TD.  I assume creating 6 tables of 2 but I am really unclear as to what to do for round robin part.  Do you just allow busted players to "rebuy" for their 2nd matchup?

Sorry if it's unclear but any suggestions on how to automate this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!!
