Help Me / Re: Adding text to Action Summary?
« on: March 02, 2010, 09:05:56 PM »
Thanks Corey, as usual. It was the Tournament History I was looking for. I like to add things like chip counts at the start of the final table, hand matchup in the late bustouts, etc., then copy it onto the results page for our league website. I got Tourney History mixed up with Action History.

Help Me / Adding text to Action Summary?

There used to be, or so I thought, a way you could input things into the action summary (notes, chip counts, winning hands, etc.) ... I'm looking all over for it now and can't find it, maybe I'm just having a brain fart. Was it a figment of my imagination or something just in earlier editions? I'm in 2.5.8.

Help Me / Re: Wrong token to show prize?

Nevermind, found it. the correct token is <winnings> and it was right there under my nose, hit the Add Tokens button in the message screen and it's in the list.

Help Me / Wrong token to show prize?
« on: February 08, 2010, 09:58:56 PM »
For our new tournament season I wanted to show a message when someone busts out in the money with their name and the amount they won. (So we know who to pay what to easily.) I created the event and I think I'm using the wrong token command.

<name> wins <prizeamount>!

produces this:

Joe Blow wins !

Um, help? (Unless I can find it first.)

Templates, Layouts and Sounds / Re: SSSOP Points System

Kinda stinks that last place is always going to get 0 points, but aside from that, it's workable.

Rounding to $5 sometimes does that, esp. if 3rd was like 66.50 and 4th was 46.50 depending on your percentages. Try doing rounding to $1 (always exactly right for me), then just manually pay out to the nearest $5.

Help Me / Re: Formula help
« on: March 17, 2009, 03:40:39 PM »
I think in my case of using the top 5 of 7, using the formula    sum(top(5,scores))    would actually work. This one counts up from the bottom, telling the computer to "find all the scores, order them, then count from the top, add the scores as you go down and when you get to the 5th one, stop there." Seems simple enough. It should work, I'll tell you in October after we've played our 7th tournament.

I too am curious about this. Someone gave me a formula (don't have it handy, it's on laptop at home) that would only count the best 5 scores of the 7 tournaments we have. I too want those 2 dropped to be a missed event if need be. It just dawned on me that if a player plays 5 events, I believe it will only count their top 3 scores (dropping the 2 lowest) rather than all 5.

Help Me / Re: No file (load/save) dialogs
« on: January 05, 2009, 02:09:08 PM »
Has this issue been resolved? I logged on here to show a co-worker and fellow TD user a background and I saw this. I'm holding a tournament in 3 weeks and haven't used TD since the last one I hosted in October. If it's still a problem, it's a BIG problem for me. (I fooled with TD right before Xmas to play some sounds for someone at the Events tab worked fine)

EDIT: I'm a nit and only read through the first page of this thread. I'll go home and play with TD and report my findings ... I have a laptop with some preloaded version of Vista.

Help Me / Re: Are league settings independent of tournaments?
« on: October 08, 2008, 11:50:09 AM »
I was wondering if you had to save the filter settings in the Stats tab in every tournament (each of our tourneys is a different file). I tried it and the same filter settings come up for each tournament, so it answered my question. Only have to set a filter once and all tournety files access it. Don't mind me, Version 2 simply blows my mind.

Question for Corey (or anyone else who knows) ...

Are the things in the Leagues and Database tabs (points settings, formulas, etc.) independent of the tournaments or do you have to have the same settings saved in each tournament?

Help Me / Sounds played only in breaks?
« on: September 14, 2008, 09:16:57 PM »
I'm finally converting to TD 2.5.3 from the Version 1 family (because Vista fouls up a lot of the old controls) ...

Anyway, I'm trying to build my sound events templates, and can't find a way to make a sound play ONLY during a break ... for instance, play a "Folks return to your seats" sound with 120 left in a break ONLY. I'm sure it's somewhere that I haven't looked or found yet, can anybody help?

Nevermind, fixed it. Assigned all files that would open in Media Player to another program, and then switched back again. And now it works. Go figger.

Help Me / Sound help in Vista with Version 1
« on: January 27, 2008, 06:22:48 PM »
Just got a new laptop with Windows Vista. I have an event to run on Monday, so I was going to run Version 1 (to run Version 2 means I have to rebuild tourneys and scripts and player databases) figuring it would be quicker.

But the sounds don't play. I've checked to make sure the sounds are linking to the right place on the hard drive, that the speakers aren't muted, that kind of stuff, but nothing. I remember in the 1.3.5 docs there's a check in Windows Media Player to make sure the player is actually playing .wav sounds. Does anybody have it?

And has anyone else had problems with TD in Vista?
