Honestly, use whatever works best for your group. BUT, if you want an official take on it, Poker TDA Rules state it should be full stacks:
Rule 7: Alternates, players registering late, and re-entries will be sold full stacks, randomly seated at any position, and dealt in except between SB and button.

No, 300 would be equal to the pot at that point... in either scenario, the minimum raise is the previous bet, $200 added to the call amount, $200, for a total of $400.

Build a profile on the stats tab. In the "Scoring" box, under "Create Tournament Scores using formula:" enter "points". Then under "Create Overall Scores using formulas:" use the following formula:
sum(top(10, scores))
That should work for you.

On Windows 10, using the beta build, my messages are acting strangely. I fire an event when someone is knocked out that display a message that says "<Player> knocked out by <Hitman> and earns <points> points and <TotalWinnings>." On Windows 7, using the beta, the messages behaved as expected. Since upgrading to Windows 10, the message displays for one second off-center, then changes to be a column in the center of the screen. I've tried changing the message properties to use smaller fonts, different positions, etc, to no avail. I've sent a backup to you, Corey, if you could take a look. Sorry, I was unable to get a screen shot, but if you load the 20150918 tournament, you should be able recreate the issue by starting the tournament and busting someone out on the tournament screen.

Is there a way to easily extract which tournament a player first played in for a particular league, for all players? I know I can run stats, then look at the list of tournaments for a particular player, but with a large number of players, that would be painstaking...

Also, what are some uses for this?
For me, Player Rankings screen and Tables tab is where I'd use it most.

I don't think anything was changed about the backup/restore feature. I'm interested to see what's in the backup. Send it to me if you can: support@thetournamentdirector.net
Made a new backup, and it restored correctly. Must've been just some weirdness on the previous backup. I backup to a NAS, so it could've been a network hiccup. Anyway, glad it was a false alarm!
