Hand Timer with Extended Display
« on: October 04, 2012, 12:03:50 AM »
Hi All,

Simple question that I've poured over the forums and preferences for the answer... to no avail.

Is it possible to make the hand timer come up on the Extended Display?  I have the game window on the ED, and would like the hand timer to be there as well.

I've tried un-checking the 'dialogs open on main display box', but that doesn't seem to do it.

I'm running two SNGs at the same time, and once players reach heads up, blinds go to 10 minutes.  So while one of the games is playing on the normal game clock, when the second game goes heads up I'd like to just use the hand timer for the 10 minute blinds on that table.

Of course if anyone has a better way to do this, I'd be open to suggestions...  ;)

Much thanks,

Trevor

Well, there's no way to make any dialog open in a specific location, other than the preferences to make the application "remember" where a particular dialog last was and open in the same location, or force dialogs to open on the main display.

It looks like the Hand Timer dialog might not respect the "Save dialog locations" preference.  I'll look into it.

Thanks Corey.  THat's what I thought, but wanted to check anyway.

FYI, I fixed this for 3.2.  I also:

- Updated the Hand Timer to be configurable (fonts, colors, background, etc)
- Modified the code to make the timer more accurate and update much more frequently
- Added the option to show tenths of a second
- Added context-menu options for setting the timer to a specific time or resetting it to the default time

Fantastic!  Can't wait to DL!

Another question I had regarding the hand timer (while I was trying to come up with a work around), Is it possible to designate a cell in the layout for the hand timer?

Unfortunately no.
